how many bullets do you CHLers carry?

My Glock 19 carries 15 rounds in the standard magazine, so that's how many I carry. If I have to fire more than 15 times, then I need to think twice about pulling the trigger the first time, because that's 15 rounds that will miss and may cause collateral damage.

No offense to those of you who carry multiple spare magazines, it's just not my thing.

14+1 in my S&W SD40 and 14 more in a spare mag.

Why? Because I made my own custom holster and it is still very comfortable to do so.

Primary-Glock 17 with one spare magazine and Surefire flashlight-total 34 rounds

Secondary-Keltec P3AT .380 with two spare mags-total 18 rounds

Thirdly-Benchmade folder pocket knife (beats harsh words)

As many have said, I dont plan on being in a drawn out fireworks show but "once we are in the fight, it aint over, until its over."

The thing is, I'd use it if I absolutely had to, but I would have considered myself to have lost the fight already if I'm at contact distance. My goal in life is to never get into knife distance with anybody. My CRKT, despite being all tacticool 'n stuff, is largely relegated to opening envelopes and boxes, and occasionally cleaning my fingernails.

....but I do keep it sharp, just in case....

EWWWwwww! You'd stab/cut someone with a knife you used to clean your fingernails!! That's just WRONG! (and totally disgusting!)

There's a big difference between surgery and self defense.

Using a knife in the latter situation is by nature extremely messy and disgusting.

A little fingernail debris more or less isn't going to make a lick of difference.

18+1 in my P226, and 20 in each of two spare magazines, which I sometimes carry and sometimes don't. Lately, I've been leaving them at home because it's too hot for the extra weight in my pockets. I've got an Crossbreed Dual IWB holster, but I need to lose more weight before it stands a chance of being comfortable.

10 + 1 in the PT111, plus 1 extra 10 round mag if working, but 2 extra 10 rounders
if off work.

+ 6 rounds of .38 Special in the revolver, but that's only available from my driver's seat.

So the minimum I have onbody is 21, the maximum that I can have onbody + while driving = 37 rounds.

You can't be too thin, too rich, or have too much ammo. :-)

In my pistol I have 10+1 and a G21 mag for a reload that has 13 rounds. It's always good to carry a reload or two. You never know when you might have magazine induced malfunction. Then you have the issue of multiple attackers now. Third you have to account for adreneline dump and the fact that the person might be on something requiring more than one shot. At work they taught us to reload when given the oppurtunity. They consistantly told us a full gun is a happy gun.

In reality, generally one one full mag +1 in the chamber, plus one spare mag. Whatever that capacity is for the handgun I'm carrying. Can be anywhere from 14 to 30+

Depends. If I'm carrying my USPc and LCP, it's 32 (two USP mags and one LCP). Often I'm carrying the LCP alone, so it's 6, but I usually have my M&P in the car with another mag so add 30 more.

Sounds like you need a REAL gunbelt. That's a problem usually only with dress or casual belts.
