Yep the one in Flower Mound is posted properly too. And I have a sneakin suspicion who may be responsible for it and some others, as he IS a gung-ho national sales manager in another industry. A while back, a local CHL Instructor was talking about Lifetime and some other national chains and other businesses who had non-chl compliant no guns signage. He said he was contemplating educating them on what they needed to do to be compliant - and being able (for a fee of course) to help fix them up with the proper signage. I gave him my opinion verbally, then after a couple more times of his further underhanded tactics in pursuit of the Almighty Dollar, sent HIM written 30.06 notice via certified mail.
CHL Instructor since 1995

This must be really new, because they have had a gunbusters sign for forever and never any real signage.zigzag wrote:This is the one at West Lake Houston Pkway and Will Clayton Rd , Atascocita, Texas. Really nice place .
Makes me feel even better after cancelling my membership in April and signing up with a local Crossfit gym. Now I'm supporting a local business and one that wants to support my right to safety.

Drove by on Will Clayton today and saw the normal "Lifetime Fitness bans guns on these premises" sign on the front door. Do they have the 30.06 posted on the inner doors?zigzag wrote:This is the one at West Lake Houston Pkway and Will Clayton Rd , Atascocita, Texas. Really nice place .

I don't see how a health club/gym would be a very good place for any type of weapon. I never go to a gym cause I get enough of a work out on my mountain bike. Gyms bore me and always have.zigzag wrote:My first time to check this place out. They got a big sign in front so i went back to the car. Since I don't use health clubs such as the Y or Lifetime to work out, how would you guys secure your weapon while in the gym? I surely wouldn't want to leave it in a locker. Also, multiple individuals probably just saw me put it there. I would be way too worried about someone calling the law, because again, by definition, while getting dressed it's not "concealed". I've just committed a crime while getting undressed. Also, I'd be worried about coming back to my locker an hour later only to find a broken lock and a $600 handgun missing.
Anyway, that's always bugged me so I was wondering how others would handle it? Perhaps going back to the old days of fanny packs? You could wear it while on the treadmille??? I still have my fanny pack.

I have a small gym bag. I would only carry if returning to my car when it is dark outside.TDDude wrote:I don't see how a health club/gym would be a very good place for any type of weapon.
