Affidavit Needed?

#1

Post by KickABuck »

Hello,

I'm a bit confused on this... I see some posts that an affidavit is needed for registration... but I don't see that in any currently required documentation.. is this just old policy?

Thanks!

No. You have to have 2 affidavits, I don't remember which they are, I do know that one is that you swear that you have read the statues on the use of deadly force.

Thanks for the response.

So here is my checklist. I've completed the online registration, and have my fingerprints taken...

* 2 fingerprint cards or fingerprints submitted using FAST
* Photo holder
* 2 Signed Photo
* CHL-100 Training Form

So I'm seeing that I need the 2 signed photo's and CHL-100 training form. Is the affidavit request included in the training form? Or rather, will that be completed when I take the training?

See where I'm confused?

Thanks,

Ok. You should be provided your affidavits by your instructor, as they need to be officially notarized. Also, don't need your photos signed, include them in a separate envelope (which would be included in your larger envelope that contains all your papers.), and write on the envelope, your full name, the words passport photos, and your CHL application number (from the bar-code).

Your best bet would be talk with your instructor, as they are the most updated when it comes to the requirements, and they have a particular interest in making sure that you get all forms done and sent off correctly.

If my memory is right, and If you are filing electronically, you do not need the affidavits (or notorized documents from your instructor).
During the online form, you are affirming that what you have stated is true and accurate thus affirming it via the website as the notary.

As a final check, at the end of the online process, it gives you a checklist of things that you need to mail in, just send what is listed there.

Thanks for the response.

That is again, part of what confuses me. Maybe if your information is confirmed, someone should update the FAQ or process, if I missed it.. I apologize, but the process in the sticky.. as i have experienced it, seems to need to be updated for 2011.

No affidavits needed with online process. Use the checklist provided.
