What are "Fire Arms"?

Probably, since that's consistent with no snoking
They wouldn't want people to breathe nor inhale those fumes from the fire arms deeply ...
(But, under SOME definitions, I didn't think it is legal to snoke anywhere)

My company posts a 30.06 sign (as well as another sign that prohibits firearms)

It's white text on clear glass. Does that qualify for "contrasting colors"?

I feel like conceal carrying a practice plastic pistol to protest. Or perhaps a BB gun - they aren't firearms are they?

I still find it ironic that this signage requirement is filed under a code that is numbered (virtually) the same as one of the most popular rifle cartridge sizes ever.

Coincidence? I think not...

It was all part of the plan way back when they assigned 30.05 to plain old trespassing.

Tax Assessor office = FAIL. But the Courthouse is prohibited whether they post or not, so the compliance of the sign is irrelevant. I think sometimes the courthouses post "semi" 30.06 signs, just to warn CHL's that carry is prohibited, even though they don't have to. I think a good cleanup of the law would be to specify a sign that courthouses and other prohibited places MUST post, otherwise you have at least a Defense to Prosecution...like w/ a 51% sign.

I agree.

My county posts courthouses with 30.06 signs that are valid to the millimeter, jot, and tittle. The signs are not legally necessary, and they have metal detectors, so the whole issue is moot.

There are buildings that are not clearly labeled as courthouses, temporary courts, municipal courts, etc., that could be clarified.

Well after nearly 2 years of never seeing a 30.06 on my regular weekend runabout (I never go near Jarreds but I know they have one) I saw not 1 but 2 30.06 signs within 5 minutes of each other. Both on the doors of credit unions and both not as legally defined. Despite them not being legal, I took my business elsewhere.

JSC and AMOCO Credit Union on League City Parkway (SH 96) have just lost about $50,000 worth of business. I doubt they care though. :smilelol5:

Mclennan co tax collector / public records/ count clerk ect, in Waco just got posted 30.06. It's a new sign in the last few months, and apears to be small

I think there are court rooms inside, but I'm not 100% sure, and that should not keep me from caring in to register my truck. Right?

If court rooms inside ... or even "offices utilized by a Court" don't carry, whether there is a sign or not.
