DFW get-together was a BLAST! Planning for next one now!

I think what the Doc is worried about is the shock /recoil from firing guns. I can get around pretty good. i can't turn my neck..... but I can turn my body. They put bone in between three of my discs and screwed them together. The basic plan is that they all grow together. I guess the situation is fragile until after some time goes by and it all grows together. Sudden shocks and movements can interfer in proper healing and I sure don't want to go through that surgery again. It hurt!!!! LOL

That is definitely some major surgery you went through and I don't blame you
for not wanting to do anything to jeopardize your recovery.

The important thing is that you take care of yourself so you can get well as soon as possible.
There will be other range meets I'm sure.

We have had a change of plans and won't be able to make Elm Fork this time around. The grandkids are playing tomorrow and I haven't made any games for 3 weeks.

I asked and was not given a direct response. The woman was very busy at the time, but I had included it in my email, too. When I said the size of the group, she acted like I had said 5 people and responded that they could handle 400. She later said it is $15 a person.

Anyone else willing to ask about it in the morning? I'm not a very good negotiator when it comes to such things.

Will bring a couple of boxes of 380, don't shoot much since my Hsc has become a jamomatic and need to find some springs and new mags. Only thing we currently have that eats it is a JA380 the wife bought while i was shotgun shopping. Accurate and loves Monarch FMJ ammo so I shoot it occasionally at the range and carry it as a second backup on occasion.

Just heard rumors/hints today, so it may just be someone stirring the pot, but the situation sounds legit......if they offer the work, I'll work. Otherwise I'll be at Elm Fork....just can't pass up the money, times being what they are and all......

I think Hoi Polloi did a great job at setting this up. I would like to thank her again, her husband and TAM. Husband polloi helped my wife shoot a couple mags from my .45 while I watched the kid and TAM let my wife shoot some from his .380. Sorry I could not stay for lunch had errands to run up in Plano.

Sadly on my way to Elm Fork I was pulled over by Irvings finest for doing 75 in a 60. He was a very formal guy and was not happy with me when he return to my car I had my arms crossed and hands were not visible(wife was lecturing me about speeding) so he stood there and gave me a stern look until I realized why, his comment was "you already told me you have a gun don't make me more nervous, which is understandable. So now I have a fine to take care of. Oh and to make matters worse today was my wifes birthday and guess what I forgot.

Thanks Hoi for setting this get together up. Had a good time at the range and lunch after wards. It was great meeting everyone whose post I have been reading. Now I have to get to the work of cleaning up everything.
