Are you serious? Wasn't this topic disscussed at your CHL course?

Hint:
1) Do not flee the scene.
2) Call 911 ask for an Ambulance
3) Disarm when LEO on scene
4) Corrporate withe LEO and ask for a Lawyer.

First of all, BGs are not dead until a doctor declares them dead. When you are able to do so safely, call 911 and request ambulance and police. Keep yourself and any people around you safe until the police arrive. IANAL, etc.

Edit P.S. You are not going to get a handshake.

what about a justified shooting a man in the back who is robbing a store and you happen to be in the back, and he has a gun to the clerk?
The intent is NEVER to shoot and kill. If your instructor taught you that, I'd be concerned. The goal should be to STOP the threat.

Polite society has generally held that "back-shooters" are of low degree and otherwise not possessing of the social graces. I think the plaintiff's lawyer may make the same, or similar, claim.

:iagree: This is a basic premise of self defense. If you are unsure of the law, maybe you should obtain some more training. IANAL

:iagree: Like Beiruty above, some of the posts that have shown up of late cause me to question the level of training AND/OR if the post has been made prior to receiving any training OR are TROLLS?

A CHL is a serious committment to self-defense requiring mature judgement. It comes with serious responsibilites and accountabilities. It is not a Batman license.
