There is tactical worth in knowing human behavior and adjusting to it. Like most people will turn right over turning left if fleeing, most women will focus on the face and head while men will apparently look down, too, at least in 2D advertisements. I think it is an interesting point is all.
Yes, it is from a speculative point. But even if most men and women behave exactly according to the study's results, I'm betting they are far more interested in the tactile rather than the tactical details. The study appears to say that men are more interested in other men's guns, so to speak, than they are in other men's guns.

I can't speak for any of the other guys here, but I am prepared to testify under oath and connected to a lie detector with my other hand on the Holy Bible that I'm not looking at other men to see if they're wearing a smart carry.

Women place a high value on interpersonal relationships and interactions. This is well-known. Men are looking for something else.

However, I have to develop selective blindness quite often. There's an old cliché that "stretch pants" usually have no choice. ;-)

I wonder about everyone I see with their shirt tail untucked. Most of the time I can see nothing. I usually carry in my pocket (front left) with my shirt untucked (desantis pocket holster) in the summer, with shorts. The other day, eating at a restaurant with the wife, I noticed the top part of the grip was sticking out of the pocket and exposed. I guess no one noticed, as nothing was said. I don't like IWB as they rub me too much and OWB only in the winter covered by a jacket.

I wish they would allow open carry, not that I would open carry, but it would alleviate any concern about concealment. The conceal portion of our law is only so that little old ladies don't have a heart attack if they see someone with a gun. It is so irritating that our lawmakers are only interested in getting re-elected. They want NOTHING controversial in their speeches.

Do you know this for a fact? Were you present when the law was drafted and debated, or do you have records of the proceedings?

It could even make them more interested, depending on the bar.

Wow, this thread has just gone wrong. Just sayin'

I have to admit though, I do check out women more to see if they are carrying....I give them much more concentration. Call it a character flaw.

Admit it, seeing if a 50 year old, overweight guy is packing, vs checking if a 20ish year old co-ed is packing....

I digress.

It's not like you helped get it back on track. ;-)

I have met women members of this forum in person. I never could "make" one.

& we need to remember the "G" rating of this board so it does not offend the most "G" rated lady on the board. :tiphat:

But what about a 50-year-old, overweight gal?
Sorry, not helping here.
Just my $0.02 worth - I tend to watch behaviors more than bodies, although I include body language and posture in behaviors. Fanny pack worn in front is about the only thing that trips my alert, but even that is situational ... tourist destination vs. office building kind of thing.

Men don't get more than a quick scan for odd posture and movement (I'm pretty sure one of the guys who I see at lunch a lot carries, he walks like Igor, sort of lurching to cover his right side). Women get a quick scan for the same, plus oddball clothing or hair (I work next to the Galleria, the people-watching is quite amusing sometimes), and that's about it unless they're shopping in stilettos and my lunch buddies and I need a laugh.

But no, I don't really look at anybody below the waistline, with the exception of shoes as noted above.
