I use to go to the AMC at Grapevine Mills often. i like that theater but hate the parking lot. And Im not setting foot in that parking lot with out my handgun. For a time there was no 30.06 sign. Last time I was there at AMC Grapevine I finally saw one. It was it small letters and in the bottom corner of the glass where the doors are and a trash can partially covered it up. Its not a valid sign and I made no effort to correct them.

I never go into Grapevine Mills Mall tho as they are posted but I dont know if its an exact 30.06 as I havent seen it in a while but last time I saw it it was close enough for me. Plus its confusing as they don't post at all entrances. I know they are posted but some CHL holder visiting for the first time may go in via a different entrance and never see a sign. Then what?

But now there is a nicer theater closer to me so i dont even bother going to that AMC at all anymore. The closest i get is Bass Pro. I dont know if its true but I heard Grapevine PD will enforce the signs. Its clear those businesses stance on CHL's. So they dont get my business. And Im more than happy to always tell my friends not visit those places of business and why. Word of mouth works.

Grapevine Mills Mall is posted, but with incorrect wording. We've also heard from a few folks that say they have been told by the mall police and or the GVPD that it is close enough. I only go to this theater as a last resort and do not go into the mall.

Not only is this silly, it's taking up valuable time and thought that should be given to CCW in the Post Office, drinking and CCW and last but not least, how to go to the bathroom with your CCW.

Let's get serious, people.
We do need more discussion on going to the bathroom.

My thoughts only , but I think were gonna beat this enough that AMC Theaters will get smart enough to install the correct signs, since the signs they have now are not the correct size/wording.
So how about we just leave it like it is and end all of this nonsense....
Again my thoughts only...... :tiphat:

Mall Police, enough said. Please detain me when I broke no law, nice fat mall check. GVPD will have to eventually learn that close enough doesnt cut it. The law is clear and from statements posters made on here the sign is no where near close enough to even be a gray area. Did 30.06 become a suggestion or the rule? That being said, I dont want to test it though against the real police.

I recently went to the AMC at Willowbrook, I did not see any signs, but I went to the kiosk side and didn't search to hard. I was carrying. There were several LEOs in the lobby, but they didn't seem to pay me no mind. They were looking my way as I was waiting with my kids while my wife used the bathroom, but it didn't seem like they were suspicious, maybe just wondering why this old man had two young kiddies. I'm 56 and my kids are 10 and 8.

Unlike some establishments where there is little competition, AMC has plenty and it is convenient. They don't get any of my money.

We stopped going to the AMC when we saw the Mall was posted (even though the theater is not valid). It was a "if you're friends with a 30.06 supporter..." kind of deal. We started going to the Southlake theater instead. It's cheaper than AMC and not even a ghostbuster sign. Plus we can go lounge at a restaurant if we need to wait for a movie time. Much better atmosphere.

I like the "let sleeping dogs lie" perspective to noncompliant places. Just don't patronize them for money sake. What they don't know can still hurt them in a $$ kind of way.

It is posted with a sign that is approximately half the required size, along with a gunbuster sign above it.

I don't know why anyone would patronize an establishment with an ambiguous sign. First, they're telling you that you and your gun aren't welcome. Second, the bad guys may see the sign as a "gun free zone". I'd rather give my money to a business that respects the right to carry.

I only went because I received a gift card as a Christmas present. If I didn't go, then they would have received money for no service. I realize that the incremental cost of my attendance was zero, but I just couldn't get past the principle. We didn't visit the concession stand.

What I find interesting is that there is no security in evidence at AMC, while the cinema I normally visit has an off-duty LEO on duty and no 30.06 or gun buster signs.

I would rather do that too, but sometimes my choices get narrowed down like this. It is my choice to walk by ambiguous signs if I want to do business there.
If the sign is compliant, than I am compliant.
Yes, I realize that the law is not always cut and dry but that is true with almost any aspect of life.
