Uptown Liquor in Harker Heights Texas not only supports CHL holders but has a 10 percent discount for us. And they let everyone know it with a big sign on the front door. Now that's a good TX small business!

I post a "CHLs welcome" at my shop. It has led to several interesting discussions, and provides a springboard to introduce those who don't carry to the wonderful world of CHL.

I have seen several "Unlicensed possession" signs, to me this would indicate that they are CHL friendly. IMHO

Those are required signs by the TABC. They're not a sign of CHL support.redlin67 wrote:I have seen several "Unlicensed possession" signs, to me this would indicate that they are CHL friendly. IMHO

Any store that sells alcohol, either <51% On premises consumption, or not for on premises consumption at all (grocery store, liquor store, etc), is required by TABC to post that sign.
EDIT: Doh! flb_78 beat me to i1!

Latch Lonestar Harley Davidson in Tyler has a CHLers Welcome sign posted prominently on both front doors.
Re: CHL Friendly Places
I mentioned in another thread about the last time I was at the range in BassPro. Previously, when one is going to use the range you must stop at the entrance and have the greeter place a lock on each gun and record what caliber, number of mags, and how much ammo you are bringing in. I did this and when I was done shooting I was waiting for the guy to replace the lock so I could proceed back the the entrance for the lock to be removed. However, the guy at the range said that if I had a CHL I could just go on and have a nice day. I'll have to call the range and find out if I need to stop at the entrance to have the lock placed on my gun next time.
Upon reflection, I'm not sure that taking advantage of this privilege is a good idea. While I appreciate BassPro's pro CHL stance, someone that deviates from others could be questioned and it would then be known that I had a CHL. This would be similar to what's going on at the capitol with the CHL sign at an entrance. I don't generally tell strangers or even most friends that I have a CHL.

Hey, look on the bright side, you'll save money!lawrnk wrote:Soon I'll be doing all my shopping at 7-11
I shop at the dollar store and aldi because they don't have unemployment causing self-checkout, great prices, and no 30.06 signs. Just yesterday, I bought 8 peaches for $1, 8 plums for $1, and 8 oranges for $1 at the dollar store.
I don't shop at costco because they caused the chl guy in las vegas to get shot. I don't shop at wal mart because they've agreed with Bloomberg to shut down gun sales in most of their non-rural stores. I don't shop at target now because what i've just learned here.
I sure am saving a lot of money because of my boycotts!

Re: CHL Friendly Places
I've often thought of suggesting that texas3006.com start including places that DON'T have a 30.06 or 51% sign. That way, if I do a search, I'll know for sure I can carry.
Currently, all a store's non-listing tells me on there is that either they don't have the sign or nobody's bothered to post if they do or not. It doesn't inform me definitively as to whether or not I can carry.

Target greatly respects the Toys for Tots program and the volunteers who make it a success. However, our longstanding policy of no-solicitation prohibits the use of our store locations as collection or drop-off sites for any type of activity. Re: CHL Friendly Places
A few years ago Target banned the Salvation Army from collecting in front of their stores at Christmas. Walmart responded by saying the Salvation Army is not only welcome here but we will match every dollar they collect here. I know there are other issues with Walmart and my blood pressure goes up every time I have to go in there, but that went a long way with me. Everyone says they killed the mom & pop and they did but they did it by saving you a pile of money every year. Walmart was the only place I found that hasn't gouged us on ammo in the past couple of years.
