Houston Flea Market
Does anyone know if it is actually illegal to carry at the Houston Flea Market on Westpark @ 59? They have a sign at the entrance that says something to the effect of "It is illegal to have a concealed handgun beyond this point." It is not even close to a 30.06. They have a few (terrifying) amusement park rides there, but even amusement parks have to be properly posted now, correct?

Yes but it's not an amusement park unluess it "encompasses at least 75 acres in surface area, is enclosed with access only through controlled entries, is open for operation more than 120 days in each calendar year, and has security guards on the premises at all times."koolaid wrote:Does anyone know if it is actually illegal to carry at the Houston Flea Market on Westpark @ 59? This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.

And even then, it still needs a 30.06 sign. Gotta love 46.035(i)Cobra Medic wrote:Yes but it's not an amusement park unluess it "encompasses at least 75 acres in surface area, is enclosed with access only through controlled entries, is open for operation more than 120 days in each calendar year, and has security guards on the premises at all times."koolaid wrote:Does anyone know if it is actually illegal to carry at the Houston Flea Market on Westpark @ 59? If there's no 30.06 sign, and it's not a place otherwise prohibited under 46.035, carry away!
IANAL, YMMV, ITEOTWAWKI and all that.

Thanks for the replies. I figured it wasn't valid, but I didn't want to press my luck with all the number of police they have walking around.

they dont have a lot of police looking for weapons they are looking for stolen merchadise which is very common in a flea market.
