An open carry person could still carry their firearm in just by covering it up. I like having a choice.

They could change the language of 30.06 and then have all the companies posting have to change their signs to comply

It's a compromise. I'd be afraid that too many places would post proper 30.06 signs banning both open and concealed carry. If they were to post a gunbuster, at least one could still conceal carry. Later, after it's proved that we're not killing each other over parking spaces, we could lobby to loosen the laws up further.

I wouldn't read too much into the NRA's actions. A situation where a law was passed allowing open carry and then for no reason trying to repeal that law is a far cry from the NRA backing open carry in Texas.

We are still unlikely to garner any support from the TSRA or NRA for the foreseeable future.

He was a member of Bloomberg's infamous group of gun banners until recently when he decided to run for higher office. He was on record as knowing the real agenda of that group. Look up his bio on Wikipedia. He served under the Clintons too. He likes New York style gun laws. Perry is your best bet. The TSRA gives him the thumbs up too. When I saw the term "Sanctuary City Policy" I immediately thought of Chicago, and it sent chills down my spine. No thank you! Not a snowball's chance in Big Bend in August!

When I saw the term "Sanctuary City Policy" I immediately thought of Chicago, and it sent chills down my spine. No thank you! Not a snowball's chance in Big Bend in August!

Houston has the policy as well. And while White said he would impliment law x or y to stop it ......he never did and when in front of LULAC he touted his "Pro-Imigration" record including ordering the city to not ask the immigration status of anyone.

I agree. I too would still carry concealed.
My concern is that if open carry was allowed, more businesses would put up 30.06 signs and there would be a lot fewer places we could carry at all.

Pushing the limits might backfire. I could understand how the parents could feel uneasy in a restaurant with their children, if the guy at the next table had a 45 on his belt.

I don’t want to see public opinion swing back the other way.
