:eek6 WOW!

I am stunned. That's right next door to me, literally. My house is less than a mile from the city limits between Cedar Park and Round Rock. We're in the RRISD boundaries. YIKES!

Can you give more details, where you were? What government building? Etc?

Umm, coming from Kali myself, I can state that many are moving OUT of Kali (to Texas) because of the widespread liberalism. :txflag:
OK.... I admit...not everyone from kalifornia is a liberal. My apologies. :cheers2:

I am kind of surprised you didn't already hear about it all. I guess it never made the news.

Thanks for posting the name of the town.

The cops there already know they arrested a CHL and the charges didn't stick, so it's good for us to know too, especially people with a CHL in the greater Austin area.
When in doubt

OK - I was already concerned about this ordeal being possible! Was even going to transition my M-Tac Holster for Glock 26 to velcro version so clips wouldn't show on my belt. This is my backyard too and I happen to be one of the many that also flocked from Cali! I too have that exact Bianchi holster and have worn it many times over last couple months - especially while I was waiting for what I use to think was deep concealment M-Tac Holster.

I definitely do not want to go through a Cuff & Stuff moment. Heck, I might just have to start wearing 3-4 layers to make sure that I'm making sure that I'm just positive that there's no printing going on!. Our Glocks are both the sub-compact versions (Baby Glock) so can't get any smaller Glock-wise. I'm extremely comfortable & incredibly accurate with mine as well.

Most Austin locals should have pretty good understanding that Williamson County will frequently arrest on minor incidents (i.e., at drop of a hat) compared to Travis County. But man, to have Round Rock PD exploiting this type of conduct even after CHL disclosed is rediculous!

I too only heard about this on this forum - not in paper or news. Thanks for sharing handog.

Let me be the first one to welcome you to Texas. It looks like you might have moved right back into what you were trying to escape. The Round Rock PD needs to be straightened out on CHL issues. If they really are as hostile towards private ownership of firearms as they appear in this post, you good folks in that area have quite a battle ahead of you.

Many thanks for the location of the PD that wronged you, and wronged all of us. I work in RR from time to time.

I also vote for taking it to the Mayor, and the media. But the Austin American Statesman (aka the UnAmerican Statesman) is, IMHO, unlikely to be supportive.

If you want to do something about false arrest under this law, let's not forget that one of our options is to have our legislature remove it from the books. Open carry was an issue in the last legislative session, and false arrest under failure to conceal was one of the arguments being made in support of it. You can't get arrested for failure to conceal if open carry is legal and this law is repealed. Let the chastising begin again with a gusto, but this time don't try to tell me there is no risk of being harassed, arrested, incarcerated, and brought before a judge on 46.035 for printing and having your shirt blow up in the wind. We're all at legal jeopardy from this law. If you don't want to be taken down like some felon thug on a public street for all to see, just because you're exercising your fundamental rights, write and lobby your legislators to have this law repealed.

Texans gave the legislature the power to pass 46.02 in 1869 with this small change:

SECTION XIII. Every person shall have the right to keep and bear arms, in the lawful defence of himself or the State, under such regulations as the Legislature may prescribe.

After then having to live under a despot governor and having removed him from the capital at gun point in 1873, we took away that power with the intent and expectation of repealing the despicable 46.02 law. Low and behold, it's still on the books just as unconstitutional as ever. All we need to do is fix that little omission.

Darn handog, what happened to you is pretty disconcerting to say the least.

I never worried about printing (because I make every effort not too) but I never worried about a little bulge (could be anything) but I also make every effort not to be in Williamson County but I guess this could happen anywhere.

Your experience may say something about fanny pack carry (at least it does not print and is surely concealed).

Yesterday I had lunch at Saltgrass in Irving.
I noticed a couple police cars when I walked in. Didnt think much of it. Didnt see any signs to worry about.
We ended up being seated in the middle of 4 or 5 tables of Irving police. Both in uniform and Plain clothes.
There must have been 25 visible weapons. ( and at least one concealed ) I felt relatively comfortable that even if mine had printed ( it wasnt ) it surely wouldnt have looked out of place....

Maybe everybody should print out the CHL hand book highlight the spot that pertain to this and mail/email it to the RRPD police chief and/or mayor. It is silent, non-aggressive and to the point. Just a thought.

Thank you for the update and location. Hate to see something like that happen in my backyard.
