- The campus buildings are off limits by statute because they're school "premises" (as defined in the statutes).
- The 30.06 signs on those buildings are legally meaningless, because it's government property.
- The 30.06 signs Keith B mentioned at Plano school parking lots are also legally meaningless because it's government property, and those parking lots are not off limits as schools, because they're not buildings.
I knew I had to be misreading something. However, couldn't a school post an enforceable 30.06 sign? I remember hearing or reading that in order for a school to keep a CHL holder from leaving their weapon in their vehicle they would have to post one somewhere in the parking lot. Is this not true and the parking lot cannot be posted legally?

BTW, thanks for the picture of the red 51% sign. I have not seen one before, but that's what I thought it should look like.

Only if they are a private (non-government owned) school, not your local ISD or state college.

Good to know. I hadn't considered it being government property before.

However, the Student and Employee handbooks can override this, in terms of being allowed to remain associated with the school.

Ditto, thanks for the picture!

Interesting aside.. When my grandson and I entered the restaurant this evening, I asked the hostess if the establishment was a 51% place. I asked because I knew that the bar area was, but I didn't know if the dining room was (it has a small bar).

She say "what?". :???:
