got it, thank you for clarification. missed the part that she said she wasnt a CHL holder.
I wish they would have let the other two answer that question

Re: Republican Governors debate
I'm getting tired of KB and Rick going at each other. Ms Medina is giving straight answers and
correct info. So far, I like what Ms Medina is saying. I will be following her in this race.

Re: Republican Governors debate
I was a bit irked about the personal gun inquiry of Medina. I wouldn't want to be outed on TV

Re: Republican Governors debate
That might have been a little uncalled for, but in Texas, like many other states, I'm not sure that's going to hurt her.

I like Medina too. The other two are full of it and they both should be fired.

Re: Republican Governors debate
By the way, somewhat unrelated, but I saw Texas State Comptroller Susan Combs speak at a chamber luncheon today. I don't know much about her, but she seemed like an eminently reasonable person.

Re: Republican Governors debate
didn't Ms Medina "out" herself when she posed for the news picture with her gun in her hand, sitting in her car... she asked for the barrage of gun related questions. In my opinion, she seems to be searching for a voter base in the firearms enthusiast community.

It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!

Regrettably they all seemed like a bunch or maroons to an extent. Better than the alternative I guess. The infighting and backbiting doesn't help anyone.

Yes. And I know this prior to. I've heard of her before and was well aware of her position. I just applied the 'outing' to being on the debate. I apply it to myself. For example, you'll see my name all over the forums and I'm pretty open about my position on guns. But you stick me in real life, around real people and I feel very put on the spot when I'm not expecting to get a gun question or charge.
Odd, I know.
It's one thing to be progun, it's another when details are dug for. She might not be uncomfortable with detailed questions. I on the other hand am cautious about who's asking and why.

Politicians, mouths moving... this sounding familiar?
It can happen here.
Re: Republican Governors debate
Fox 4 in DFW has a poll going to see who won the debate.

It's on the right under the radar image.

Unfortunately, they won't let us elect "none of the above."dubya wrote:Regrettably they all seemed like a bunch or maroons to an extent. Better than the alternative I guess.
And without initiative and referendum at the state level, having no governor could be a bit of a hassle.

Re: Republican Governors debate
The Moderator: Absolutely thrilled to have the "honor" of asking Governor Perry a question. Any question.
The Old Dude: Was gunning for Senator Hutchinson. Don't think that he noticed that there were other people in the debate.
The Cute Hispanic Chick: Asked Deborah Medina about guns. Told the moderator that she didn't have to roll so many letter R's when introducing her.
Governor Perry: Fresh die-job on the hair. Compared himself to Ronald Reagan. Appeared to be continually unprepared and surprised by almost every question.
Deborah Medina: Knowledgeable. Level-headed and good delivery. Excellent presentation.
Senator Hutchinson: Why the downgrade from ranking Senator to Governor of Texas? Absolutely and unequivocally refused to answer Yes or No on the question regarding the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. Not to knock lawyers, but she is a perfect example of a lawyer not wanting to be pinned down for making a plain and simple statement.
Very amateur presentation of a debate. 19-year old Johns Hopkins student in audience asked a fairly intelligent question and completely stumped the Governor, who was not even aware of the Law/Act in question (though he was Lt. Governor at the time). Medina was aware and jumped on it.
