Texas and Alabama have signed a Reciprocity agreement.

You can find all the answers you are seeking about CCW laws at Handgunlaw.us

I just looked at TX and AL's sites.

The TX DPS CHL site:http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... tm#alabama States that reciprocity has been reached.

The AL AG site hasn't been updated since Sep 4, 2004. does not list it.

I'm curious why AL hasn't updated their site

I noticed that yesterday and I was glad to see it! ....I wonder if New Hampshire is going to suffer on their out of state licenses due to this agreement? I will keep mine current in pure support of their smooth issue process.

I can only guess that your post has lit a fire under our friends in Alabama, because when I checked the site it had been updated today (8/11) and now shows reciprocity with Texas... Good Work

Heh. Never fails.

I vacationed in Alabama last month and had to lock the P99 in a case, unloaded, as soon as I crossed the state line from Mississippi. But, this is very, very good nonetheless...my sucky timing notwithstanding.

I have never been to AL, but it is always good to add another state to that list!

I agree with jbirds1210, I will keep mine current, even though I did get it for Alabama.
Who knows one day I may visit NH again. I was in Boston area one year and me and another guy drove to NH just to visit a Harley store and buy a T-shirt.
Funny how when you live in cetral texas the surrounding states are so far but up there they are just around the corner for us.
