I'm not going to be baited Mr Rocks, I just call them like I see them. There have been some very threads and posts around here lately in MO, but thankfully this is not a thread about who or what Mr Carrots is at but a thread about someone doing something nice for somebody and then reporting it here. That makes for a nice change and is worthy of a brief trip above the parapet. Now shouldn't you be out pistol whipping a bum or otherwise flexing your mean man muscles someplace?

No...you have the wrong guy. I just say mean things to them. That was the other guy that punches them out. By the by....you were not being baited. Just an interesting observation I made about your post.
Hey i just punch em out when they assault me, i dont tell em im gonna shoot em in the face, just a little punch :)

Oh God no! I hate that show. I hate that the Japanese are willing to exterminate a beautiful species in the name of profit, but those guys chasing the whale hunters are a bunch of pathetic drama queens, and nothing more than eco-terrorists. I hope they get sunk, and I think it is irresponsible of the network to put on a show which glorifies them.

Well just to keep everything straight. That was a different guy who said he would shoot them in the face. I just tell them to get away from me in a mean spirited way. Just the bums Kieth...LOL...not everyone I meet.... "rlol"

By the way...I think I just figured out the kung foo joke. Is it my avatar? :headscratch

I agree on the pathetic lives of those folks. I also hope someone puts a harpoon through their hull one of these days.

As for the show, I can appreciate it in the light that it's hilarious how consistently they fail and then get their feelings hurt about it. It's like watching children play pirates against the real world. I know some folks who have turned watching the show into a drinking game called "Fail Wars", where you take a drink every time they fail. Every episode is sure to get you fabulously drunk.

The more recent episodes are even more entertaining, as the Japanese have simply started ignoring them, and they just flounder in their own failures because both a) their boat can't keep up and b) their euro-riot tactics (throwing bottles of acid by hand at ships as if they were Molotov Cocktails) are completely ineffective. Taken in that light, the show is utterly hilarious.

Also, TAM lacks the pouty 4-year-old face that the "captain" makes every time they fail. :smilelol5:

Well, back to the original topic for a sec... I had actually hoped that having my CHL would allow me to re-enter the world of helping strangers. I mean there's like a 1% (or maybe .01%) chance that the guy on the side of the road is running a scam, but I really want to avoid being shot so didn't really wanna take the chance. But now that it seems every walking human being above the age of 6 has a cell phone and the coverage is pretty good nearly everywhere, it seems less "reasonable" to stop and help folks. I hope I am still open to it, as I have also been helped on the road several times, back in the day as they say.

Picked up a 60-something year old man in Bainbridge, GA one time, standing on the side of the road in coat and tie with his suitcase, and thumbing a ride to the VA hospital in FL. Gave him a ride for 100+ miles. Good times. But that was back in the '80's.
