Got busted. hilarious.

Had a DR. appointment Tuesday & was headed in the building as Dr also started in. We greated & I held the 1st door for him. He got the 2nd door, nodded & as I stepped through he popped me on the left kidney area as we visited & he hit my extra mags.
D. What was that? Was that a gun?
Me. No doc it was not.
D. Well what was it? I think you have a gun.
M. Doc you sure ask a lot of questions about a guys underwear. I am by now wondering where this is going. We are both continuing to walk toward the office.
D. If that was not a gun what was it?
M. My extra magazines.
D. You do have a gun. Short pause My wife has a pistol liscense.
M. Good I will be one to encourage her.
We split up. I register & he enters the Dr. door.
Later in the office for report on last visit.
D. Did you have one last time you were here?
M. Doc you have never seen me unarmed yet. Does that make you nervous now that you know it? I am no different when you know I am armed than when you did not know.
D. Well no I guess not.
Two week ago he took a biopsy of a little place that is going to be removed.
D. Did you have one the day I did your biopsy.
I can barely keep from showing a grin but I managed it.
M. Yes sir. It was not this one but I did have one in my back pocket.
D. I never did a biopsy on anyone with a gun on them.
M. Doc, You mean that you knew had a gun on them. I am sure you have more patients than you think that have CHL. Some of us carry all the time. If you had not patted my mags on the way in you would not know you had done my biopsy while I was armed. I never did tell him the wife was setting in the waiting room w/ another one.
D. Uhhh, right. OK your questions.
All back to normal for the rest of the visit. He did tell me that I am a high mantainance patient. Too many questions. I now have thought of my response to that for my next visit. I pd him $30.00 co pay & I don't know how much he charged my ins. That was for 30 minutes or a little less. I will tell him that he is a high Dollar Dr. & the only reason he thinks I am a a high maint. patient is that I dont come in here like the average sheep just saying, yes doc, anything you say doc. I have Qs when your gonna cut on me. Minor surgery is when you are cutting on me, it don't get to be major until they are cutting on you doc.

That is where the little Kel-Tecs come in so handy. Back pocket & cover w/ a hankie. Does your wife have her CHL? Even before mine started carrying, there were many times it came in handy for her hold it in her purse.

Great story, my wifes #1 job is to put her arm around me and see if my gun is there when I come out of a public restroom. I have not had to have her stash it in her purse yet but I bet that time will come also.

That .32 Tomcat was my 1st back pocket carry & I still have it. Would really like to find a young CHLer who needs a good back pocket pistol for a good price. I have run it local twice & had several calls but so far refused to sell it to any who looked. Price makes it attractive to too many that did not have satisfactory answers to some Qs. ie:
Do you have a CHL?
Without a CHL what do you want such a small pistol for? It is not a target shooter, snake gun, or even a good home defense gun as small as it is??
Answer: Uhhhh, I just want one. Sorry can't sell it to you.

Good story Longtooth.

My father worked for the Texas DPS and Dallas Sheriff's office back in the '70's. At the SO he worked at the academy and wore a suit to work when not on the range. He had a Dentist appointment one day and left work early to go.

He drove straight from the academy, so he was still armed. Our dentist was a friend, and my mother was his receptionist. Dad and the dentist entered the exam room at the same time, and the dentist told him to get comfortable and take his jacket off. Dad did so, then turned to the dentist, patted his S&W model 19 in a pancake holster and asked, "now we're not going to hurt each other are we, Doc?"

A great laugh was had by all...............

I have a Tomcat also. Got it for the hubby, as he wanted a BUG. He seldom carries it, so I tried it a few times. First off, I wouldn't bet my life on it cause I can't hit the broad side of a barn with that thing! Second, it has no intimidation factor. I can conceal it in my hand, so if I got into trouble, I would have to tell a BG "Yeah, I really DO have a gun! Yes, it IS a real gun!" and then hope they died laughing since, as before, I can't hit the broad side of a barn with that thing!

Mine is quit accurate. I can hold a 10" circle easy at 15 & a silouette at 25. It is totally reliable. You are right about the not always an intimidation factor though. Even a Raven intimadates me. One of them just might go off the 1st shot before jamming on the 2nd.

Longtooth, we are talking about the gun...Not the person/shooter .. You guys shoot so well so make the gun look good!! You and High Velocity and many others on this board !!BTW, I have a Bobcat 22... I racked the slide several time to release a chamber load if any..Nothing came out.. Aim the gun at the rice cooker sitting on the kitchen counter.. squeeze the trigger.. BAM..Things I've learned from this experience;
1. All guns are loaded...very true!
2.Never handle a gun that I'm not VERY familiar with..READ the Manual several time over...In this case it has a flip barrel for a reason.
3.Since all guns are loaded there is no margin for error/mistakes mental lapses.
4. I can point shoot and hit a 5 quart rice cooker within 10 feet... The 22 will not go thru the rice cooker. It will pentrate 2-3 inches,,
5. ALL GUNS ARE LOADED..

Longtooth, My Tomcat is quite accurate as well. "The Marshal" has shot it as well and had good results.

True, It doesn't have much of an intimidation factor, but it can be a valuable backup weapon.

Reysc, thank the Lord that it was the rice cooker & no one was close. Good you did not point it at the floor & get wood & fragments in face & leg. Yes ALL guns are loaded. Sir you want to see a good shot with a pistol??? Get around ElGato. I have not had the privilege to watch yet but want to. His reputation travels many miles North of his homeland.
