So I wonder if they threw my application in the Harris Co pile :grumble

Must have been the "S" at the end that threw them off :boxing

She didn't want to discuss the longer than statutory 45 days, she just said they were running "A couple months."
As near as I can tell, my plastic finally arrived on July 14 while I was on a trip to Florida.

114 days and still "Processing Application". I hope I'm not the only one singled out for a long wait. Whatever, I'm patient.

DATE A COMPLETE APPLICATION RECEIVED BY DPS: 04/21/09
RECIEVED LETTER W/PIN # May 29,2009
DATE LICENSE WAS RECEIVED: Still waiting on the mail
TOTAL NUMBER OF DAYS IN PROCESSING:N/A
DID YOU RECEIVE A LETTER FROM DPS REGARDING A DELAY:YES...May 29, 2009 with pin number
DID YOU CAUSE ANY DELAY IN PROCESSING. IF YES, EXPLAIN: No, Never been arrested, or questioned by law enforcement. Had for speeding tickets in last 30 years.

Four weeks ago I called the number on the sheet and they said they were waiting on a couple of outstanding items and to call back in a week.

One week later I called, they said everything is in so give us another week

Again, another week goes by, I call and they say, yes everything is in and you will need to speak to Mxxxx the processor. They transfer me to her and I leave a voice mail. I did that for 7 business days in a row.

On the 8th day I sent a electronic email to the governor of Texas's office Rick Perry. I get a email back on the 9th day stating they will be contacting the Director of the DPS office. They even gave the name on the email letter response.

Of course I do a search on the internet for this new found contact person and begin to send him a email directly. All the while being very respectful in just wanting to find out the hold up and what I needed to do to move my application along. I am about 1/2 half way typing my email when I get a call from Mxxxx the processor of my application staying that everything was clear to approve and that I should have my card in about 10 to 12 days. She was very professional and I thanked her for her help in getting it through the process. I was born and still live in the same county for the past 47+ years, never had an encounter with Law enforcement. Seems like the state should be able to process these in a much faster time frame.
