Need help finding something out

I work with a guy who says in Texas, you can not carry with a round in the chamber.

I know he is wrong, and I carry with a round in the chamber, because if you didnt, all you would have is an expensive rock.

Where does it say that you can though? I want to prove him wrong.

In the American system of law, an act is legal unless it is made illegal by a specific statute.

You can go through the Penal Code, specifically Chapter 46 (weapons) and Government Code Chapter 411 (which establishes CHL) from one end to the other. Nowhere does it say that it is illegal to carry with a round in the chamber.

You can either legally possess a weapon or not. It does not matter whether it is loaded or even capable of firing.

I have found that the best solution for people like this is to ask them to show you where what they are saying is against the law. Then let them bathe in the warm bathwaters of ignorance.

Many states do prohibit carrying loaded weapons in many circumstances, and the federal "gun free school zone" law also includes that aspect -- but not Texas law.

Yeah, I know some states do not allow carrying with a round, or even a magzine in the pistol, but in our great state of Texas, they thankfully do not restrict our freedom. Unlike Nazi-fornia!

Actually they do restrict our freedom, but not as much as states like California.
