Freeman Coliseum-San Antonio

#1

Post by jdh2580 »

I will be going to a seminar there next weekend. I checked Texas3006.com and did a search here to see if it was posted and did not find anything. I think it is county/city owned so it should be a non-issue. Can anyone in the SA area confirm.

Thanks!!!! :tiphat:

I can confirm that it is county owned. I stopped going after they gave it to the Spurs so I can't tell you if it is posted or not.

I was at the Freeman Coliseum today. I had a complete and total brainfart and forgot to look for a 30.06 sign, but there was a 51% sign in the concession stand. Got distracted by Dave Ramsey on the way out and forgot to look for the 30.06 again.

Oh, well. Sometimes Old Timer's disease sets in early.

Obviously, a Spurs game would be off limits anyway due to the fact that it is a professional sporting event. I am sure almost everyone here would know this. bit in case we have a newcomer.

UpTheIrons - If you were carrying you walked right past the signs that were about 8" X 8" with lettering about 1/4" of an inch just as I did. Regardless, I carried and was very comfortable doing so based on my knowledge of the law. I certainly did not intentionally go past an 30.06 sign that I though was valid.

For the more knowledgeable folks here correct me if I am wrong. This is a county owned building so the 30.06 posting would not be valid and I was not in violation of the law.

By the way, DAVE RAMSEY ROCKS!

I know that 30.06 doesn't apply since it's a county owned building, but what about the 51% signs in the concession stands (at least, in the one concession stand I visited)? What does that do to the equation? Are they the trump card here? I'm pretty sure the concession stands get that much of their income from beer sales on days they are selling, but since they wouldn't let us have a cold one while Dave was rockin' the place, do they not apply in that situation?

I'm confused, so this nerd is going back to massage the budget to get more money in the ammo line!

And yes, Dave Ramsey does indeed rock, and he rocks hard!
