Good point. Also, in most other states different agencies issue DLs and CCWs.CopOnce wrote:One reason for this would be that your CHL is covered under reciprocity in other states as my Utah CCW is supported under Texas law. Do you think that if I was stopped or detained in Texas and when they would run my Minnesota DL and I'm holding a Utah CCW that it would show "flagged". I don't think so.WildBill wrote:wb5kje wrote:As a side note, if your CHL is linked to your DL, why should it be required to show both?

What good would that do? It makes as much sense as putting someones religion on the DL.wb5kje wrote:Your right this forum is great. I have read or heard that Texas is looking at placeing your CHL endorsement on our DL's. Again, I'm not sure where I heard this, but it would be like my motorcycle endorsement shown on my DL?
Remember that people with no training, no background check and no license can legally carry A GUN in their car in Texas.
Maybe we should stamp a big red CRIMINAL across the ID and DL of convicted criminals. That would do more to improve officer safety than flagging some of the people who passed a background check. As an added bonus, other people who see the CRIMINAL on the license would be able to take appropriate measures for their own safety.
It's nice to protect big strong police men but it's also nice to protect little old ladies.

Boomerang, you have issues with keeping your feelings all bottled up inside. You need to learn to tell us how you really feel.boomerang wrote:What good would that do?
