Concealed weapon ban fails at Lubbock City Hall

A majority of City Council members shot down a resolution that would have banned concealed hand guns at public meetings today.

Councilwoman Linda DeLeon, who presented the resolution, said the state’s penal code allowed the council to ban weapons.

But other council members said it conflicted with exemptions allowed by the state legislature, and a majority agreed concealed weapons made the council chamber a safer place.

Good to see that common sense still prevails in the sand blown city.

I'm just guessing she's an anti-gun Democrat? (not that all Dem's are anti's).

Can we get those Lubbock city leaders to come down here and run Austin for us?

If it will get them out of Lubbock, you can have them.

Deleon is always looking to stir up trouble. Most of the rest just fight with each other. We're hoping the "new" mayor can whip them into shape.

Goes back to when she was on the school board back in the 80's and 90's. She always played the race card.

Somebody ( :headscratch ) keeps electing her to these positions. Why is that?
