AT&T Center in San Antonio
My wife and I are going to the Neil Diamond concert Sunday evening. I know that this place is posted 30.06, but doesn't Bexar County own the facility? I can see the pro sporting events being off-limits to CHL (under TPC 46.035, but NOT under 30.06), but a concert is not covered.
Has anybody had any trouble entering the Center for non-school/non-sporting events?
I'm not in favor of going "for the ride", but I don't want to be a sheeple, either.

But if it's owned by the city, it's not a valid posting.WarHawk-AVG wrote:If its valid posted 30.06...its posted...period
Hey, where's Frankie?

My Wife and I go to a lot of concerts. The last time we went to a concert at the AT&T center was about two years ago. It was for an Aerosmith concert. We had to empty our pockets and put all contents into a basket, and then went through metal detection. There is more security there than you can shake a stick at. Both private and on duty LEOs are there, inside and out.pedalman wrote:Has anybody had any trouble entering the Center for non-school/non-sporting events?
Since then, we have gone to several concerts at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, and have found that security at the gate was not as strict. Our last concert was Tom Petty a couple of months ago and since we had Lawn tickets, we were carrying blankets, we did have to unfold the blankets, and they looked in my wifes purse, but there was no metal detectors that I could tell. I did not have to empty my pockets.
These Concerts are usually packed wall to wall with people. In the event one should have to use deadly force at such an event, the chances of hitting an innocent bystander is great.

Well, that answers my question. Guess I'll just have to go without a "medical device".

It's not inside the venue that I worry about. What bothers me is having to leave the concert and return to our vehicle. I have not been to the Center yet. But I am probably safe in assuming that their parking lot is not walled off with concrete and barbed wire. I'd be willing to bet that anybody can stroll on to that parking lot.SIGnage wrote:These Concerts are usually packed wall to wall with people. I went to an SA Rampage game last night at the AT&T. I got there as early as possible to get a parking spot as close as I could to the arena. The less I have to walk, hopefully the less chance I run into something.

Your going to see Neil Diamond, not Marilynn Manson, I wouldn't expect any problems here. Besides, when you leave, there will be cops on every corner. Just go and have a good time, got any extra tickets?

That's the million-dollar question. Is it valid?WarHawk-AVG wrote:If its valid posted 30.06...its posted...period
I suppose that if I was single and independently wealthy, I could make myself a test case. Unfortunately, my family and wallet would differ with that.
