While it's nice that he is a CHL (meaning a certified good guy), it would have been good for the reporter to point out that no license is needed in your living room.

Had he been not licensed, he may not have been carrying and therefore may not have had anything to help protect himself with. I do not carry since my CHL isn't here yet but will as soon as I get it....bank on that lol

First, the first article mentioned that the homeowner had a CHL,

My "maybe" comments were meant as general "what if's". Only to point out that a lot of different reasons could exist for him to be taken into custody.

He was in his own living room. The CHL was immaterial.

Don't wait for your CHL to start carrying when you can. Carry around your house and property, to get used to the feel. You'll be a lot more comfortable when you make your maiden trip to Wal Mart legally armed.

Thanks for the feedback, KBCraig, very valuable information that I didn't even consider when reading through the state CH laws. Thanks!

Right, it's inmaterial.....but....he came home from someplace and most who don't have a CHL don't carry out away from home so he probably would have walked in unarmed is what I mean. I used to carry before the law changed but quit just in case I got caught and didn't want to mess up my getting a CHL. I've been wearing mine around the house trying out a holster and getting used to it....but I need to try others as I don't like this one.....and I have it on now as I type. I've been planning for years to get my CHL but my jerk son in law just got out of jail, much to our surprise so we decided it's time to do it now. Just gotta send in the paper work and the money.

Actually, I didn't carry on my person....but in my car mainly and did that before they ever offered a license.
