Carrying at work.

I have used the search like crazy and I can not find anything on this.

It is against the law to carry at work when.

1. There are no 30.06 signs around the building.
2. Company has HR policies against carrying.

I know I would lose my job but I was wondering if I would be charged for carrying.

I have not ever carried at work but a couple of us CHL were talking about it.

Also if it is illegal if someone could point me to where is states in the law, would be awsome.

Sorry if this has been posted before but I search pages and could not find a clean answer.

It is only ILLEGAL if they are properly 30.06 posted. HR policy has no force of law. You are right that you could be fired, though.

edit: It would also probably be illegal if you work in a place that is already off-limits.

If you are given effective notice of a no-guns provision in compliance with TPC §30.06, then you can be prosecuted for criminal trespass. Effective notice can be written (sign, employee manual, etc.) or it can be oral. If it is written, the language must be exactly as set out in the statute (§30.06). If it is oral notice, no special language is required; anything that gets the "no guns" message across is sufficient.
