So are we just going to ignore the elephant in here...

Chas.
Chas.,
My current position on the thread is that, either intentionally or not, the thread has caused a dramatic change for the worse.
For what it's worth, you have my vote to lock out this topic and the OP until proof can be offered.

Well, as much as I wanted to believe....
I spoke to a Sargeant with the Chiefs office at the Worcester PD (508) 799-8651, and he stated this "is not accurate and has not happened"
I think I'll refrain from posting unless this topic makes a major turn towards something verifiable. I'd suggest the rest of you do the same.

And Worcester Captain Ginn(sp?) called back and states this "did not occur" or anywhere in MA for that matter.lawrnk wrote:Well, as much as I wanted to believe....

The Chief was not available. Captain is 2nd in command right? His word is good enough for me. That and one Sargeant, and 2 Officers.WildBill wrote:I guess you can get a better source that the Sergeant.
According to the Worcester Police Dept website Gary J. Gemme is the chief.
Unless of course this is some vast right wing conspiracy cover-up

Just a quick note to mention I appreciate the work you (and the other moderators) do to keep this place running. Having been an administrator for a large (700+) person mailing list in the past, I realize how challenging issues like this can become and how there seems to be no "right" way to handle it.
Hopefully the dust will settle soon and we can return to our normally scheduled conversations.

There are a variety of scenerios that are in play here.
I run a 5000 member forum and I'm also the Sheriff of that board. My forum is also a volunteer effort and takes considerable time/attention.
Charles has his hands full on this one and whatever the outcome, I'm certain there will be forum policy changes coming.
