How early can you renew?
I think I recall something from years ago saying you needed ot be inside 60 or 90 days for a renewal but can't find the info.
Anyone recall or know with certainty?
Just got my letter today.
Thanks!!

DPS will send you a reminder letter by USPS when you are eligible to renew. Just inside the 6 month window prior to expiration.

If you are inside the 6 month window, log into the DPS site. If you are eligible, it will allow you renew. No point in delaying renewal. Your new license will expire 5 years after your current expiration date.

Re: How early can you renew?
You should get a letter from DPS about 6 months before expiration letting you know you can go ahead and renew. I got my letter in early June and renewed a couple of weeks later, for a license that was expiring on October 5th. From renewal application to plastic in hand was about 2 weeks.

Yep, that was part of the confusion- I got my letter 7 months early but thought there was a lesser (90ish day) limit to renew. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:22 pm You should get a letter from DPS about 6 months before expiration letting you know you can go ahead and renew. Re: How early can you renew?
I believe that it used to be 6 months, but I got my last renewal letter approximately 120 days before my expiration…the letter arriving in the 1st week of June, for an expiration date of October 5th. Turnaround was about 2 weeks from renewal app to plastic in hand. So I received my plastic with at least 90 days to go before expiration of the old license.

I just discovered an advantage to turning 60.
