Re: Renewal ??
You will receive notification 6 months prior to expiration. If you have a resident permit, then you will then be able to renew online. They will use your drivers license photo.tommyg wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 6:59 pm My LTC expires in December this year I know it is early

If a non-resident permit, a whole different procedure; paper, photos, etc.

Re: Renewal ??
Kieth B. is right. My driver license is up for renewal this month. I'll do that in person so I can have a recent picture. Also, going in person makes it a little easier to ensure the get the Veteran label right.

Re: Renewal ??
I received a letter approximately 6 months before expiration with a detailed method for online renewal. Same day sat at the computer followed the instructions and best I remember I had my renewal in hand—12 days.

Re: Renewal ??
My CHL was due to expire in June of this year. When I reached the 180 days before expiration date (between Christmas and New Years), I went online and renewed. They wanted another copy of my DD-214, so I scanned and attached that online. Got my new LTC card in less than 10 days. Very easy process. The online system will tell you if they need any supporting documentaton.

Re: Renewal ??
Does anybody have any idea what time frame my LTC renewal will take based on the current corona-virus issue? Has anybody renewed since pandemic started? I sent in application last night (3-19-20).. I’m assuming the RSD are still operating & assume they’re real slow now.
I hope I don’t have to send in any supporting doc’s as in finger printing.

MeToo Same here, renewed both online LTC and TDL (TDL 2 years early so I can earn a gold star on it) easy peasy and as far as an old photo ... I like looking younger like I did 8 years ago ...I already know what I look like now, and others wanting to know ... can just look at me in person (or .through my window or protective face shield or mask)

Re: Renewal ??
Submitted my renewal online on 24-Feb.
Received card in the mailbox yesterday (3-April).
Sitting in the garage for a few days before opening.
39 days total. Last renewal was 31 days to my door.
Nothing to complain about, especially given the circumstances. And, I had a while before expiration, so, hopefully DPS pushes the late filers ahead so nobody gets past expiration.
My thanks to the folks at DPS.

Re: Renewal ??
If you don’t need to re-take new prints (which most don’t) & you don’t have any criminal history (& I mean ANY), then your renewal won’t take more than a month. If you do have criminal history, then looking at 2-3 months
