My Grandson lives in Florida and has Florida drivers License etc. Before he moved to Florida he got his Texas CHL which has his old Texas drivers license # on it. He has changed his address but cannot find how to change his drivers license over to Florida. He has tried unsuccessfully to call DPS. Can someone on this forum give him some help?

Re: How to change DL Number on CHL
In 2017 I moved to Michigan and had the same situation. I called DPS and was told there is no law requiring DL on CHL to be updated, then she said good bye.

This must be done by mail, you’ll need to mail in a LTC-70 form & check for $25 payable to “Texas DPS”. Include a photocopy of the new DL front & back.

I don’t see any of those 7 boxes in the reason for change/ update as fitting the situation that the OP mentioned regarding DL change. I think the fella will be wasting his money sending that in.

I know I’m right about what I posted earlier. Just to make things crystal clear, he could add a letter (hand written or typed) to say you want to change the Dl#.
Re: How to change DL Number on CHL
They would be changing their lawful presence. They are presently resident of another state, but since one cannot hold 2 state's driver's license, they need to change the Applicant Information box to the state and number of where their DL is issued, updating their legal ID requirement. Their current Texas ID, DL#, is no longer valid ID since it does not exist any longer.Texas_Blaze wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2019 5:46 pmI don’t see any of those 7 boxes in the reason for change/ update as fitting the situation that the OP mentioned regarding DL change. Re: How to change DL Number on CHL
Thanks to all who tried to help with this question. I gave the above information to my Grandson and he will have to make a decision on what to do from here.
