According to texas3006.com, there might or might not be signs posted but the trains are owned by the city but operated by the chamber of commerce. If there are signs they are unenforceable. Can anybody confirm this please?

Re: Grapevine Vintage Train - Polar Express
If you have an account with the TX Secretary of State you can do a search to find the owner of the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Cost is $1 for the SoS search. If the GVVRR is owned by the City, any posted signs would not, IN MY OPINION, be valid.
My understanding (again, my OPINION) is that a private operator can post signs and not be in violation of the sign law, but signs posted on city-owned property would not cause a permit holder to be in violation of 30.06/07, again, assuming the City owns the trains.
This is my OPINION. I am not a lawyer. This is not legal advice.

Re: Grapevine Vintage Train - Polar Express
The train and the land are owned by the Grapevine Heritage Foundation.
This is NOT run by the City of Grapevine OR the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce.
The Grapevine Heritage Foundation is an independent non-profit corporation.
The Grapevine Heritage Foundation is NOT run or funded by the City of Grapevine ... it is independent.
Any signs they post ARE enforceable.

According to the postings on http://www..texas3006.com, it is owned by the city but a posting from March of this year said there were no signs although it seems there were in the past.DWA wrote:The train and the land are owned by the Grapevine Heritage Foundation.

From the chamber's website, the city started the Grapevine Heritage Foundation. Doesn't sound too independent to me.
Since we have to ride a shuttle, it doesn't appear it would be an easy walk back to the car if there are signs.Today, the City of Grapevine remains deeply committed to the preservation and faithful stewardship of its historic resources. The city even established a non-profit organization devoted to historic preservation advocacy called the Grapevine Heritage Foundation.

You might want to add a comment to the texas3006.com listing.
Perfect weather for an open air train ride yesterday, but not very "polar".
