Jogging Carry

#1

Post by Will938 »

How do you do it? I wear jogging shorts with a velcro pocket for my ID. I wear a keltec P3AT with the pocket clip on my leather snap-on mechanic belt @ 6 o'clock.

Seems to work pretty well, I just started jogging at my college residence again...which is on a spooky county road. I headed out for a three mile run at about 1AM in that hunter's moon. I was engaged by numerous cows hiding in the moonlight and one dog which thankfully was stopped by a fence. Made me feel much more comfortable carrying instead of traveling lite.

Well i did see a holster for the Kel-tec p3at that was a necklace, that would work just fine. Just type in p3at holsters in google and youll be able to find it.

Why are you running in the dark down a "spooky" road?

Don't you know the badguys like it when its dark, people can't see them as well doing their dirty work

I suggest finding a better place and time to run bud, kinda asking for trouble...

Rich dude : "Why did my Ferrari get stolen....WHHHHHY?"

Some must run during this time frame. My wife is a marathon runner and when you're running 15-20 miles at a time...you don't do a lot of that at 12 noon in Southeast Texas. She runs in darker clothing with reflective stripes, 1 hand-held CS spray, a small cell phone and a .38 in a specially made fanny pack I designed out of a EMT kit. She runs as early as 4:30am up to 10pm. I don't think anyone is "asking for trouble" when they do this anymore than some one walking through a downtown area at night. It's something that we will do and not have a criminal dictate. There are ways to make it "more safe" for ourselves and a crime is 9 out of 10 times one of oppourtunity. One can be a victim of a crime in broad daylight in a nice, populated area of town just the same.

Will938.....
Next time you're on the south side of town (Clear Lake Area), try out Pro-Defense off of Nasa Road 1 and I-45. They carry a nice variety of small carry pouches and packs as well as several itmes that can be modified for such use. The guys there will even let you do what my wife did: Put your gun in a something that your interested in and run outside with it to see how it feels. Lot of good guys there with a lot of good info on carrying devices.

I'm much more worried about loose livestock or dogs than people. 15 miles either way to a town, and I'm on the county road in the middle that leads to nowhere. During last night's run I heard exactly two cars drive by on the highway, zero drove by on the county road. No one is going to lay in wait for someone to jog by, only 10 people live on this 4 mile stretch and I'm the only one up past 10PM

Mine rides in a Desantis Pistol Pack. I've run many miles with it on my water belt while marathon training around White Rock Lake.
