Pleasant surprise at the doctor's office today
I went to my doctor this morning and saw what looked to be two compliant signs on either side of the front door. Sure enough, the first one I saw was a compliant 30.07 sign. I decided to check the other side just to be sure it was also valid, and I found..... another compliant 30.07 sign. So 2 compliant 30.07 signs and no mention of 30.06 at all!
I guess the folks in charge there really dislike open carry, but don't mind concealed carry at all. I will comply with their wishes.

My doctors office is in a hospital so it doesn't matter.

This has got me wondering. Does anyone know of any hospitals that DO allow open or concealed carry? The Wall wrote:My doctors office is in a hospital so it doesn't matter.
Either intentionally or because of poor/non existent signage?
I don't frequent a great many of hospitals but I do believe the few I have been in had 30.06 and 30.07 signs? Anyone know if there are any gun-friendly hospitals?

I work at a hospital and all of the 30.06 signs, even newly placed ones don't have compliant language.
All of the clinics that the hospital owns only have 30.07 signs.

Well that's good(ish) news sorta. At least one can carry there even if it is due to the incompetence of the hospital in posting proper signs.bear94 wrote:I work at a hospital and all of the 30.06 signs, even newly placed ones don't have compliant language. All of the clinics that the hospital owns only have 30.07 signs.

OK.. I'll bite...The Wall wrote:My doctors office is in a hospital so it doesn't matter.
Does the hospital post 30.06 and/or 30.07... Because if they don't then you can carry there.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!

Re: Pleasant surprise at the doctor's office today
Strangely, the doctors I go to in Austin do not have any signs. My primary care, ENT specialist, dentist, and oral surgeon all have no signs and do not give any form of notice. I've been able to legally carry at all my medical appointments.
I am aware that there are many signs on medical offices in Austin. Also, I'm not talking about hospitals.
The only sign I have seen at a medical office in Austin since 1/1/16 has been a 30.07 at the Austin Radiological Association. It's listed in Texas3006.com.

Sorry! I guess that was a bit vague. Yes they are posted. I haven't seen a hospital that wasn't around here.RoyGBiv wrote:OK.. I'll bite...The Wall wrote:My doctors office is in a hospital so it doesn't matter.
Does the hospital post 30.06 and/or 30.07... Because if they don't then you can carry there.

I work at JPS (county hospital in Ft. Worth). They slapped up their 30.06 and 30.07's on every single entrance to every single building they own.

The Med in College Station only has 30.07 signs.Pig Renter wrote:This has got me wondering. Does anyone know of any hospitals that DO allow open or concealed carry? The Wall wrote:My doctors office is in a hospital so it doesn't matter.

My small hometown hospital has compliant 06/07 signs. The 06 signs are new. The clinic in town, which is run by a separate entity, has zero signs.

But it did take them a little while to get the complaint signs up.Kevo wrote:I work at JPS (county hospital in Ft. Worth). They slapped up their 30.06 and 30.07's on every single entrance to every single building they own.
