Public Intoxication on record

#1

Post by KD79 »

Due to some poor judgement and a bachelor party I received a PI about 6 years ago. My question is whether this could cause a delay in my processing. I had one other class c misdemeanor 17 years ago as well. I had sent all the paperwork that I could track down with my application. The one from 17 years ago was a dead end. I called every JP and law enforcement agency in the county and they found no record. I did list since I did not want it to miraculously appear and I did not list it.

Not a trouble maker, but I did use poor judgement a couple of times.

Since a class C misdemeanor (except disorderly conduct) is not a disqualifier, shouldn't be an issue. Even if they were class A's they're over 5 years, they wouldn't be an issue. It's the same as if you have speeding tickets, they're class c's.

If you were arrested for any of them then you should disclose on the application.

Thanks ScottDLS. I was arrested, but I did not think they would be an issue. I hate that I even have a record and am a little self conscious about it. I disclosed both to be safe and just don't want to be delayed any longer than the "standard" application time.

You have no more of a "conviction" record than anyone with an undismissed speeding ticket in Texas, though it's a bummer that you got arrested. Since you disclosed, I see know reason why it should take any more time, but the wait times are weird these days. Welcome to the forum.
