Just got off phone with Captian Lucas, the complaint has been received and sent to the attorneys, he said they really have not ironed things out yet, and could take some time with the lawyers. He stated the law was not well written and the attorneys must hash this out. He thinks the law allows a lessee to have full control of 3006and 3007 in or on government property's. I am not sure his opinion matters if he follows the law but I would want a pro gun person in his position. He is the person in charge of this operation. And yes there has not been one fine issued as of yet. So do not count on this going anywhere. Maybe some day

I'm wondering if it's time to kick this up the Governor's office and the original bill sponsors. Maybe they can explain why there hasn't been any enforcement action by the AG 6 months after the bill became law.

I have tweeted, emailed, faxed, and try to arrange an appointment with the author and/or co author of SB273 (I am one of the author constituents).

I have tweeted, emailed and faxed the AG, Lt. Gov, and Governor.

I have been met with 100% radio silence.

I personally would be insulted if I put my blood, sweat, and political capital into getting a bill passed and the new "ultra conservative" AG did nothing to enforce the law.

The attorneys would be trying to determine if this is a valid complaint. He assured me this is a complicated matter, I am not sure which attorneys other than the ag dept

Not sure that I know who Captain Lucas is. Is he with DPS or some kind of captain in the AG's office, or what? And what the heck is so complicated about the law? Looks pretty straightforward to me.

This 'argument' that the law isn't clear is a ridiculous statement. I think they don't want the fight and are slow-playing each of these.

The law on this is about as clear as they get. By this standard, they should be enforcing no laws whatsoever.

I wonder if Charles Cotton is still watching this thread? Perhaps he can advise us of some way to "encourage" the powers that be to speed it up. I At first I was feeling a bit understanding about the delay because of the newness of the law and because of the AG's own legal problems. But I have to wonder, shouldn't things be moving along by now? They had all the time from the passage of the bill until its implementation to be looking into the legalities.

And, yes, I understand that there are other issues the AG has to deal with. But didn't the session end during the summer? What was it...July maybe? Then the implementation was September. That puts it right about 6 months, right. My patience is just about at an end, and from what I've heard the others say, I think I might be one of the more patient people here with regards to this issue.

Yes the office of AG is looking at the complaints. I received a CC of a letter sent to the Mayor of Pasadena informing the mayor of my complaint.

The AG office has not ruled on any complaint. You are not the only one who is getting frustrated.

What we need is some gun friendly media to bring this out in the open. Unfortunately nothing like that exists.

I think the reason the AG doesn't do anything is because their is no personal punishment for them not to do anything.

You already see what the DA office gets away with so why does anyone expect the AG to act promptly.

I would have more to say but would probably get banned over it.

The letter says that OAG has received a complaint & is investigating it. They have 10 days to respond and/or provide any relevant information. The letter was sent from Zindia Thomas, Assistant Attorney General in the Administrative Law Division.
