Correct. The county owns the property. The initial complaint needs to go to them. The problem is sifting through the bureaucracy in order to get the complaint in front of the correct entity.

TexasCajun wrote:I received a response from Harris County - Houston Sports Authority. Apparently, the county has some sort of arrangement with a non profit called Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation that actually is in charge of operations at NRG Stadium. The head honchos over there aren't as forthcoming with their contact info. I called the main number & got no answer. So I faxed the complaint to the number listed on the website.

I'll keep y'all posted on any response (if any) and developments.
It is still owned by Harris County so we are good to pursue this.

So should the complaint go to the county judge and commissioner's court?
God and the soldier we adore,
In times of danger, not before.
The danger gone, the trouble righted,
God's forgotten, the soldier slighted.

Thanks DD. That's the same info that I found. Unfortunately, they don't list their email addresses. So I had to fax the notice.

The County will have three days to "cure" this notice. Since the notice was oral rather than a sign, the retraction must also be oral. Three days after filing the notice with Harris County, file a complaint with the AG. The AG must give fifteen days to cure and, again, the only cure will be oral retraction. Since the rodeo is more than 15 days away, and lasts more than 15 days to boot, the $1,500 per day per sign fine will attach.

Does it have to be a Harris County resident? I would be happy to file this complaint. As a lifetime HLSR member and a committee captain, I am appalled at their new stance on concealed carry.
No, any person or LTC can serve the notice and file the complaint with the AG. Service the notice on Harris County, not some subdivision thereof.

If not the managing agency, specifically who should the complaint go to? County Judge Ed Emmett? County Attorney? County Commissioners?

Just got email back from Judge Emmett's office, they are referring the issue to county attorney's office. This will probably go nowhere but we will see. He was copyied on my email. Robert.Soard@cao.hctx.net is the attorney. I will probably have helicopters hovering over my house shortly and men in dark suits driving black surburbans pulling into my drive

I saved the page on archive.org's Wayback Machine site, just in case it gets changed - we'll have a record of what it looked like today (along with a date stamp), without a doubt.

I'm waiting the three business days required by statute before filling my complaint with the AG's office. That will put my due date on Wed for filling with the AG.

I've heard (but not confirmed) that 30.06 & 30.07 signs have been installed on the ticket booths. I'll see if I can get hard proof before Wed.

Wednesday is also my day for AG notification. My first committee shift is Friday night. If the signs are there, I will take a picture.

I submitted a freedom of information request to the AG for any replies that his office has made to any improper 30.06 signs and they just emailed me and told me that they hadn't replied to ANY yet.

No way in hell these signs will be taken down by the end of the rodeo :/
