Longhorn is orders of magnitude better than Outback. Love Longhorn Steakhouse. Outback is not even close.Abraham wrote:How's good is the food at Longhorn Steakhouse?
If it's high quality great, but if on par with "The Outback Steakhouse" I'll pass as bland old shoe leather is hard to chew...
Thanks!

I have stopped going to the Outback for at least five years because the quality got so poor.
Probably on par with Saltgrass. Maybe a bit better depending on what you order.
I haven't tried much because I usually just get a rib eye.

If you like steak sauce, try their tableside steak sauce.Abraham wrote:Then, I'm going to go the nearest one in the next week.

To bad Texas Roadhouse isn't the same. My phone goes crazy when I drive past the ones here in houston.
I travel around TX/LA for a week every month for work and try to hit them at least once for there prime rib. My wife won't eat red meat except for hamburger, she thinks it's too chewy.

I don't understand the idea of seeking out management to ask about CC /OC in businesses where no signs are posted. Seems pointless at best, or an opportunity to be given verbal notice.

Abraham, bless your heart. Nobody ever taught you how to cook a shoe? Here is an instructional video:Abraham wrote:How's good is the food at Longhorn Steakhouse?

Great to know. Glad to see there is not as much panic as so many expected.
Now, as for me and Longhorn Steak House. I will never eat there again! (nor did I the first time)
The wife and I visited one in south Houston (now closed) several years ago. The wife ordered a steak med-rare. After several minutes the server came back to tell us the they were out of "med-rare". Puzzled, I ask him if they were pre-cooked and ask how they could possibly be out of med-rare and not medium (mine)?
He told me they just are. I thru 5 bucks on the table for the drinks and left.
My wife has high standards for steaks. She blew up a steak house in El Paso over their poor steaks and how I cooked a better steak over an open campfire at the Grand Canyon.
I realize this was probably a stupid occurrence, maybe an employee playing a prank on a newbie, but wasn't funny on our end.

I also have high standards for steak. Darden bought the Longhorn Steakhouse chain in 2007.bearlesjr wrote:Great to know. Glad to see there is not as much panic as so many expected.

It is possible that the restaurant where you went did not make the cut and was shut down.

Manager is a personal friend; I knew he would give me "the straight skinny" on Longhorn's policy(s).RoyGBiv wrote:I don't understand the idea of seeking out management to ask about CC /OC in businesses where no signs are posted. Seems pointless at best, or an opportunity to be given verbal notice.

Wow. This is bad. Personally, this is when I stand up, walk to the front and ask to speak with the manager. I can't fault your approach either.bearlesjr wrote:Great to know. Glad to see there is not as much panic as so many expected.

Oh man, this thread is killing me.
Many moons ago, as an expense account guest of a man I did a lot of business with, we'd hie over to Ruth Chris Steakhouse and launch into steak nirvana. They don't make a drug as good as a great aged steak and this place provided that bliss!!
The staff would provide almost blanket size linens to cover us with to keep the steaks from spattering us as they brought out the steaks out still sizzling...oh man, I think I'm gonna cry...those days are long over...
