(Fixed!) Freeman Toyota in Hurst posted 30.06/07
Hated to see this. A friends works there and he's a bit steamed about it.
Take minute to write the Sales Manager, Dane Minor.
I could not get this page to work, maybe you can: http://www.freemantoyota.com/talk-to-the-dealer
Here's my letter:
Dane,
Sometime in the next few months my wife will be shopping for a new SUV, and I probably need to replace my pickup. My wife is willing to consider a Toyota product for the first time in her life. Freeman was one of the places we intended to shop. However, that won't be happening.
I understand your doors now sport some new signs barring licensed handgun owners. Personally I don't care about the 30.07 signs, as I won't be carrying openly. I do care about the 30.06 signs. I have been carrying concealed for over 10 years, (including in the Freeman showroom) and I take that right seriously.
CHL licensees are the most law-abiding - and affluent - portion of the Texas population. You are alienating a significant portion of your target demographic by telling us "You are not welcome here".
Since the law changed many companies just posted both signs. I encourage you to consider removing the 30.06 signs. Leave the 30.07 signs if you wish - this is the decision of many businesses.
I hope you and Mr. Freeman reconsider this. Until then I'll look elsewhere for my vehicles.

I thought about that, but it turned out their online submission page blew up.
Waiting for a real email address to re-send. I'll include the stats, thanks

This one is a little surprising. Jerry Freeman is a good man and a second amendment supporter. If you are going to send a letter, you might consider sending it to him at corporate headquarters.

That's good news! I have been a loyal Freeman Mazda customer for 25 years and would hate to have to shop elsewhere.

I believe there is something to be learned from this.....signs up as of 10:00 am(as per post time) and gone as of 3:15 pm(post time) on the same day.
Up and down in 5 hrs, 15 min of the same day. IMO, we will see more of these occurrences in the coming weeks. I for one, is most willing to sit back and keep my mouth shut about ANYTHING that happens regarding 30.06/30.07.

From the sales manager"
"Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We intended only to post the open carry portion of the sign at all of our stores. If you visit in the future you will see the 30.07 posted.
Thanks again,
Dane Minor"

I've been thinking about looking at a Tundra... I think that dealership just went to the top of my list.

There's no 30.06 or 30.07 at my Toyota store.jminn1 wrote:I've been thinking about looking at a Tundra... I think that dealership just went to the top of my list.
I'm in Houston though. Jerry Freeman as a most respected dealers. He does business the right way.

Freeman Toyota is where I purchased my first Tacoma truck. Loved the truck and loved the dealership!
They treated me right and I got a good deal!
