Wal Mart, Kroger, Starbucks, Arbys so far.
No one noticed and I expect it to stay that way.

Re: Your open carry experience in a business. (Poll)
Perhaps these are topics for a separate polls, but
For instance, Denton (population 128,205) and Midland (population 128,037) are very close in size, but my observation is that Midland has a much more "rural" feel than Denton has. Is Midland more OC friendly than Denton? Maybe, maybe not. I'm curious. Is anyone else?
- I would be curious to know what size of town the people who OC'd into businesses were in when they did it.
- I'd also be curious to know if, among the larger metropolises, if businesses from any one major city was more or less likely to ban open carry than the businesses in other major cities.

Re: Your open carry experience in a business. (Poll)
Starting at 0630, 01 JAN 16, I've carried openly in small towns (Elgin, 1 sign; Manor, 0), larger (Cedar Park, 1), and Austin (0 signs). I've shopped at more places than I will list here. I've listed them in other threads. 1 location with 06/07. One with 07. The only thing my statistically insignificant sample shows is that "everywhere" is hyperbole. The Annoyed Man wrote:Perhaps these are topics for a separate polls, but
The first question addresses my suspicion that the larger the town, the more likely it is that a business will exclude OC. The second question addresses my suspicion that there are regional biases for or against OC.

I shall continue to enjoy carrying openly where I can, concealing when the situations dictates, and disarming only when I must. God bless Texas.

Well I'm in Ft Worth, and this weekend open carried in:
Target, Wal Mart, Bed Bath Beyond, Rudy's, Arby's, Walgreens, Home Depot, Kroger, Staples, McDonalds and Starbucks.
None had signs, no one noticed or at least no one cared.
This was south Ft Worth and into Arlington.

I've been open carrying all weekend around the north Fort Worth area. No one cares. I've had a few people give me dirty looks, but nothing more than that. I've made small talk with employees everywhere I've shopped, and my gun was never mentioned.
I'm really glad to see that this seems to be the overall experience amongst us. I haven't read anyone on here claiming to have been asked to leave. I feel like this weekend was a good first weekend for us. The local news stations did a great job of drumming up fear, only for us to show that it's no big deal.

If you don't prefer to carry in that manner, then don't. I personally have not carried openly (yet) either. However, there is certainly no need to be crude on this forum and question the intelligence of people because they did choose to openly carry. As long as they complied with the law, it's their choice.CleverNickname wrote:Or maybe only 10% are stupid enough to do so. I guess that makes me a 10%er.CleverNickname wrote:Or maybe only 10% are stupid enough to do so. Depends on how you look at it.JBSr wrote:Frankly, most lack the confidence to OC.
Although I don't set out to spend my day OC, it's really nice to just dress to carry instead of dressing to keep it covered.
I really enjoy the freedom of not caring (at all) if it flashes concealed, and being able to take off a jacket if I find it warm in the room...
I especially like the ability to not have to intentionally conceal, or intentionally display it...

Confidence has little to do with it, To some of us it just doesn't make sense. I've been carrying concealed all this time and its worked out OK so far, Maybe some day I'll have a reason to carry openly and I'll let it all hang out, but at least for now I can't think of a good reason to carry openly.Frankly, most lack the confidence to OC.
