Okay so 1 sign allows you to carry concealed, the other 2 won't let you carry period? Still don't make sense

The government sign is required by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission because they sell alcohol for off-premise consumption. It doesn't allow concealed carry, it says it isn't forbidden by state law at that location because of the way they sell alcohol.

The other two signs are put up by the owner to prohibit concealed (30.06) and open (30.07) carry. So, the owner says no. You have been given notice.

Regardless of the language of the signs, the lettering is not 1 inch in height. It simply isn't possible to fit that much text, at that height, on a single 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. To be sure of this, I tried to create a compliant sign. I'll spare the details unless somebody wants proof; the best I was able to get was 1/2 inch letters.

In real life, without an insanely narrow (and unreadable) font, it isn't possible. Try it yourself. Put the text in Word, set the font size to 72 points (which prints as one inch), and play with fonts and line spacing to try to make it fit. When you manage to do it, print it and post a picture with a ruler over the text. I have thousands of fonts, and wasn't able to find a non-artistic font that would fit. Certainly not a commonly available font, or any that ship with Microsoft Word.

Screenshot with rulers turned on in word attached. I can send you the word doc if you want to play with it yourself. It's absolutely possible. I'm not the guy you want to argue with about typesetting and fonts (especially with you using a serif font for testing). :)

According to mreed911 it might be possible. However, I'll just point out that in his screenshot example there are only 6 lines of text, while the pictures provided by the OP show 7 lines of text.

30.06 means no carrying concealed. 30.07 means no open carry. They have both posted so you couldn't carry any handgun. Although technically in 1 hour the 30.06 sign will be invalid since the wording changes as soon as 2016 comes.

The sign posted has the new wording on it.

Guys with what happened with PSTL PAKR on Jan 1st I would not carry past any sign that has the 30.06 (or 30.07) wording even if it isn't the right wording or the old wording. I wouldn't want to take the chance. And yes it has the new wording on it but honestly now even if it had the old wording, unless I really, REALLY needed to go to the store, I wouldn't even bother. I would just go in unarmed, give the management a no firearms=no money card and leave.

They appear legal. I wouldn't carry there, don't give them your business especially since they posted 30.06 and 30.07.

Not legal as the sign must be 1" block letters in English and Spanish posted in conspicuous manner. That being said Iwouldnt OC there

Definitely I would NOT carry in that store, take your business else where buddy.
Anti- 2nd amendment businesses will just remain that , without my $.

Thank you for stopping me creating another thread. So even the signs are not legal you should consider your self notified and not enter due to what the owner or manager of the property want? What can the owner do to you besides notify the police? Can you get arrested Fined?

What signs aren't legal?

You can definitely be arrested. If you want to argue that the letters were .95 inches instead of 1 inch as your defense after arrest, bail, hiring an attorney and a trial, feel free. It would be a Class A misdemeanor if you refused to leave, a Class C if you didn't.

Personally, I read those signs as "I don't want your money, please shop with my competitors."

Okay so I'm walking to the store and its 2 hours before New Years. First thing I notice when I pull the door is 3 handgun signs. One which is an actual government sign, and 2 other word printed sheets of paper. He says they don't allow weapons but in reality which sign would be legal?

You were told they didn't allow weapons.. That means you have been notified, correct?
