Thanks for the reply Keith!
It is a pre k-8th grade non accredited school. The area that they meet in is used for other church events many times per week.
I had similar thoughts as yours but wanted to see if anyone else sees it as I do.
Thanks again for your time.

Re: School / Church Question
Even if non-accredited, I would be cautious in carrying while school activities are ongoing. Otherwise, since multi-use, I would say since it's a church owned building when it's being used by the church and not the school it would be considered a church.Saulnier wrote:Thanks for the reply Keith!

Re: School / Church Question
Sounds a little like a home school type group. I would not carry there during school hours or any other school function. Definitely a huge gray area to me and, like Keith said, I would not risk it.Saulnier wrote:Thanks for the reply Keith!

if it's a homeschool co-op it's nothing like a school and you are perfectly safe to carry. I did throughout most of my kids' co-ops. None of the other mothers knew a thing about it, none of the rest of the leadership knew about it either, concealed is concealed, and I was much more private about my, gun politics? than I am now that my kids have graduated.

Re: School / Church Question
My church has a private school attached to it. I'm not sure about the legal ownership of the buildings, but the administration building is directly connected to the school. Furthermore, the cafeteria is also used as a contemporary church service location and the school children use the church for weekly chapel services and other services with parents and visitors on special occasions.
The church was going to post 30.07 signs at all entrances, but I'm under the belief that due to the extensive intertwining of the private school and children using all buildings as school property they would not need to as it is a school under Texas law.
Input, debate?
Thanks.

Re: School / Church Question
Researched the tax records... Land and buildings are registered to the church only. BUT the tax lists furniture, fixtures and equipment as owned by both the church and school.
Hmmmmm

Contents of the property don't matter I would imagine.
