These Texans seem to be looking forward to it.

25% off your BBQ for Open Carry on 1/1.

disclaimer, their brisket is pretty darn good (it's a bit fatty, but they'll trim it upon request).

In one of those anti articles the author says that guns used in self defense increase suicide which makes absolutely no sense. I really can't wrap my head around all the anti gun talk coming out of this. I think the liberals think this new law means that your local postal carrier is gonna deliver a shiny new pistol to every citizen in the state come jan 1. This law doesn't put guns into the hands of anyone that can't already have them.

Ugh, hearing rumors that our HR department is modifying our policies to include a 'no weapons' entry. Previously the only mention of weapons was in regards to company vehicles - stating if you were licensed you could carry in accordance with state laws. I'm told this is due to insurance crap.

The picture in the article only shows the top portion of a 30.06 sign. The text that is shown in the picture matches the statute: "Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (concealed handgun law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun".
http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/D ... /PE.30.htm

My point in posting this link is to show what the Kilgore, Texas, Chief of Police is thinking about Open Carry.
