It has been 10 years since my CHL has expired. Reading up on the TX state site it states as long as I meet the eligibility
requirements I'm good to go. Then on the renewal form it says I can only renew within 1 year after expiration of my
license. I have a spotless record but just didn't renew. Will I have to start back at square one with all the training , finger
printing, passport photos ect.?
I've been looking all through this site for nearly 4 hrs now and can't find this specifically mentioned.
I called the sharp shooter down in Corpus for more info, but was told to just submit a renewal and see what happens....
I don't like going into something without knowing the outcome. I also don't like donating to the state just to see "WHAT HAPPENS". I have been trying to call Austin but can't stay on the phone for hrs waiting.
Renew or start all over?

Re: Renew or start all over?
You will need to start over as though you never had a license before.

Passport photos no longer required (if you have a Texas DL or ID).
Fingerprints are done electronically at specific locations.
10 years is a LONG time -- lots of stuff has changed.
Yes, you will need to start over.
