This is a bowling alley/bar in Longview, Texas. It has 2 entrances. One to the bowling alley which has a red 51% sign and one for the bar which also has a red 51% sign. I sent a complaint form to TABC and they said they found no violation. What should I do next?
Should this place have a 51% sign?

Why do you think it might need a 51% sign? The TABC license clearly says; "Gun sign----Blue"

Because I reported it to TABC and they said they found no violation so I thought maybe I was reading it wrong or something.Mel wrote:Why do you think it might need a 51% sign? The TABC license clearly says; "Gun sign----Blue"

I guess I'm missing something. What did you report? Is 51% of their sales alcohol for on premises consumption? If not, they should not have a 51% sign.

I reported that they had a 51% sign up which according to their license shouldn't be there. They should have the blue sign up. So I guess I should report them again.Mel wrote:I guess I'm missing something. What did you report? Is 51% of their sales alcohol for on premises consumption? If not, they should not have a 51% sign.

OK, Gotcha now. Sorry for the confusion. Yep, I'd say report them again.

Interesting to note that the TABC site (and your picture) appear to indicate that the license is expired!
Re: Should this place have a 51% sign?
Looks like they are pending renewal. It is possible they have been reviewed and are going from a blue to red license status.License #: N 258002
