If a stranger were to ask 'What's your religion?"

If someone asked my political-religious affiliation or if I carry....I just say......good question.

May Allah be with you, might be the answer if we're not careful. A complete stranger wouldn't get a reply other than me saying none of your business, or what are you selling.

I just looked again and nowhere can I find "hide and keep your mouth shut!"Matthew 28:19 wrote:Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

I don't have a religion, but I do have a strong faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Who have you placed your faith in?

Maybe even throw in his middle name. John Moses Browning!AJSully421 wrote:"I am a devout follower of Jesus Christ and John Browning... Why do you ask?"
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

For those of us who are Christians, it is a great opportunity to share about Jesus. But like Charles said, no where can it be found in Scripture to be silent. In fact, Jesus specifically addressed this: Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

Re: If a stranger were to ask 'What's your religion?"
A number of years ago, before there was quite so much craziness in the world as there is today, my wife and I were in a (to us) "upscale" shopping mall in Hollywood while we were vacationing in California (HER idea - wedding anniversary ). We were just strolling through the mall, when a group of 4 or 5 young men approached and asked me if my wife and I were Jewish. I'm not sure if someone who is Jewish "looks" a certain way, but if so, I'm sure that my wife and I must surely look the complete opposite of whatever that is.
Anyway, these young men were clean-cut, seemed totally non-threatening. And again, it was sort of a different time. But that particular question, out of the blue, from a stranger in a group of strangers, in that setting, just caught me so off-guard that I simply said: "no" and kept walking. The young man said "ok" and he and his friends continued walking away in the opposite direction.
I have wished a hundred times that I would have handled that situation better, on so many different levels.
But I say all that just to point out that, while we may think we know what we would do in situation "x", I think we need to be aware that when whatever situation we are faced with actually comes along some day, we may not actually react the way we may have planned.
Just sayin'.

Normally I have no problem asking or being asked about the church I attend , I consider it conversation . However there could be some situational circumstance ?

I wouldn't respond, but I wouldn't take my eyes off him as I achieved distance either.

When we were in Oklahoma people assumed you were Christian. I've never had a stranger ask what my religion is but in Oklahoma my wife and I got invited to Church by strangers many times.
