I never said I would tell a property owner what to do. I said I believe that the correct thing to do is advise them their sign is not correct
This was your first response to the ops question.

You never mentioned advising.
Which was in response to a poll created because myself and 1 other person had a different opinion.

I answered yes to the poll, because I think notifying that a sign is incorrect would be the right thing to do.

Fortunately I drove around my small town of 5k and didn't see any improper signs. 1 convenience store had a sign saying it is a felony for UNLICENSED POSESSION OF A FIREARM IS A FELONY.

So, by that I can deduct they are ok with licensed possession.

I am done with this topic...I gave my opinion and other people have given theirs. Where would be the proper place to post a question about shoulder versus belt holstered carry?

As I stated in the other thread, I will not try to determine their intent. If they are serious about "no guns" then they can seriously figure out the correct signage. It's not hard and not hidden. The bigger companies certainly have enough lawyers on staff that they should be able to figure it out. If not, they need to get new lawyers.

Gun busters and similar signs may OR may not be directed at the CHL. These signs may simply be directed to bad guys so if they rob the place a tack-on charge of trespass with a weapon can be added. Why would I feel compelled to stir the pot?

On the other hand, if I saw a business with a legal 30.06 I would be more likely to strike up a conversation with them to see why they feel that way and maybe convince them otherwise.

Years ago the ATT store in town had a 30.06 sign on the glass by the front door. I asked the manager about it and she didn't know anything of why it was there. I proceeded to work my way up to the vice-president's office. I spoke with the assistant. She wasn't sure why it was posted and, according to her, she was pretty sure ATT didn't have a policy. She went on to say the VP was an active shooter and didn't think he would be worried with CHLs. I started doing my business elsewhere for other reasons but the sign came down. Was it due to my persistance? Who knows? Best anyone, including me, could come up with is the store was posted previous to ATT moving in and nobody took the 30.06 sign down and never paid much attention to it.

The sign may simply be there because it was there when the shop moved in. If it is non-compliant then what is it hurting? Leave sleeping dogs lie. Sure, they may say, "it's to keep the bad guys out" or some such but they may say, "Thanks for letting me know, I'll put up a real 30.06." What has been accomplished then?

Why not give them the benefit of doubt and just leave a non-compliant sign alone?

Do you believe one should bring unenforceable non-compliant signs to the attention of the private business owner to clarify their actual intent for having a non-compliant sign posted?
no.
Its possible (likely?) no good can come of it.

If they are really anti-gun, then informing them might prompt them to post a compliant sign.
If they are not anti-gun and knowingly post a non-compliant sign (to appease corporate, or some other group/entity) then ignoring the sign is the right thing to do. Determining their intent is not my job :-)

I obtained my license to carry a concealed handgun for one reason: to aid in defending myself, or my family members, or any other innocents in case of a life threatening attack from another person.

My Bible tells me that I must obey man's laws as long as they do not contradict God's laws. I try to honor God by obeying His Word; in this case, by disarming myself when it is required by law.

But I also have a moral duty to my family to protect them the best that I can. I consider the protection of my family to be a higher moral duty than to leave my family less protected in order to honor the personal wishes of a business owner.

If that business owner expresses his personal desire for me to disarm by displaying a non-legally binding sign, then my higher moral obligation is to remain armed so that I might have the opportunity to better protect my family.

However, if that business owner expresses his desire for me to disarm by way of a legally binding sign, then my higher moral obligation is to honor my God by obeying mans law.

Pretty straight forward for me.

People don't like to be told when they're wrong so why hurt their feelings?

Carry concealed, follow the law, be quiet about it and smile.

That's all I have to say about that.
