I just took my CHL class and have not even got my plastic yet. I have been looking at a lot of holsters for women. I am leaning towards the Flash Bang based on the research I have done. Anyone have any reviews on it.
Also I am unsure of what OWB means in some of the other posts. Can anyone help me out that that? Thanks...

you will go through many holster until you find the "one".

OWB = Outer Waist Band

Here are a few abbreviations you may see here on the forum from time to time...

IWB-inside waist band
OWB- outside waist band
EDC- every day carry
EBR- "evil black rifle" some people like to call them modern muskets or militia rifles etc
CHL- you know that one already
There are many more but if you can't find an answer feel free to make a post and ask... As my dad always told me "the dumbest question is the one that is never asked"

And I've heard good reviews of the flashbang holster... And now that my wife is on the mend after her surgeries I need to start tending to her Christmas list... That was #2 on her list... With me giving her my Tahoe as #1...#1 isn't gonna happen so...

I have no idea what it's like to wear a Flashbang holster (no bra, no Flashbang) but in all sincerity I think it's an interesting concept IF it's comfortable. (trying to be REALLY careful here not to get scolded by mods :nono: )

But Kathy Jackson http://www.corneredcat.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; seems to like them. I greatly respect her opinion about concealed carry generally and often refer female students to her web site when they ask female-specific questions I can't answer.

Her page about holster choices mentions Flashbang

You will get as many opinions as there are people and holsters. I got to try the FlashBang. I have been blessed in the "girls" department, and it wouldn't fit my bra. That and I never could find a spot where it felt reasonably comfortable. On the other hand my combo (kydex and leather) inside the waist band (IWB) I wear appendix carry (Picture your waist as a clock with 12noon at your belly button. Appendix is by the "appendix" or about 1230 1o'clock on the clock. Anyhow, this method for me is extremely comfortable and easy to deal with.

If you get a chance to try before you buy I would definitely recommend doing so. The only adjustment I had to make in my wardrobe was to add a good belt, now I feel half dressed without my belt and sidearm.

+1 on Cornered Cat! I felt so dumb earlier this month I discovered it is not just an amazing web site, but she has a book as well. I am reading it now and it is a great read! Definitely adding to my recommended resource list!

Thanks for all the feedback. I saw a video where one lady had five or six different holsters..maybe that is where I will end up.

My experience was like Divided Attention. Flashbang was not comfortable and the gun wouldn't stay put. It was constantly popping out and I was constantly having to adjust and shove it back in there. Not good! I carry at 3:00 in an OWB holster. As was said, it's a process and very personal for everyone. You didn't mention what you plan to carry, I have heard lots of positive reviews on the Flashbang when carrying very small, lightweight guns. Good luck in your search!

Songbird, curious how big/heavy a gun you attempted to carry in it? I'd think anything more than an LCP or Airweight revolver would be too much.

It was a Colt Mustang. Little, but on the heavy side. It's not the new pocket lite. Is an older model.

my empty LCP keeps popping out, I'm thinking about putting practice caps (or whatever you call them) and see what that might do with it, basically I'm hoping the problem is the lack of weight.

I have a Ruger LCP and a Flashbang. I find it to be very comfortable. I'm a size 16 in clothes and wear a 36D. It is invisible even in a tight tank top. However, if I lean over and my top is too low cut, you can see it a little bit in my cleavage. I figure anybody looking at that won't even notice the gun! "rlol"

A sense of humor! Outstanding, and welcome to the forum.

I showed the flashbang webpage to my wife, who is also somewhat "stately in the upper carriage," and she thought it looked interesting, but wasn't sure if it would be comfortable for her or not. I'm sure she would like to talk to someone who had experience with it. But when she is not carrying in her purse, she carries her Kahr CW9 in an OWB Mitch Rosen holster. She also has a Kangaroo Carry, but rarely ever tries to use it.

I know it's been mentioned elsewhere, but I'll repost it here for convenience: The Falia Freedom Channel on YouTube in run by a young woman and features alot of advice on firearms and concealment for ladies.
Here's a good starting point - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
