tried something today that worked

I'm only posting this in the Ladies' forum b/c I'm hoping we're the only ones here that wear pantyhose.
I'm normally not a dress/skirt girl. When I do choose the dress/skirt route, I generally do not wear pantyhose, and I wear something casual that can be worn with a belt.
Today, however, I wore a nicer skirt and jacket that required pantyhose to look nice. The skirt was thin; not the rugged denim or khaki to which I am more accustomed.
Anyway, I noticed that my gun kept wanting to pull my skirt down, which would have been highly inappropriate in church.
I clipped my holster to my skirt and pantyhose together, and wore my set-up IPH (inside panty-hose). It worked. Hosiery is skin tight, so it holds the holster and gun in well.
I just thought I'd share.

Oh, now that is funny.
One thing for sure I'll never be IPH!

Joe Namath wore panty hose...
I've worn 'em once or twice for those REALLY COLD nights where I grew up (Northern Wisconsin - where -45F is not unusual in the winter). Hose can make the difference between freezing to death & not when you're on that snowmo at those temps...
But I don't think I'd make a habit of it here...

I never did it but I heard it was common practice up north. When I was stationed up in northern Michigan, I was told deer hunters wore them for insulation.

Thank you. That's a nice compliment.
(I was thinking, however, that some
ladies might be getting concealment ideas from this post.)

It really is surprising who keeps up with the Ladies Forum. I guess they are getting ideas for their wives?

Great tip, Venus! I'm like you, I don't wear skirts very often. When I have, I've been wearing a thigh holster with mixed results, and it's only for my Tomcat. I have been wondering just how carrying a larger caliber gun in an IWB holster while wearing a skirt would work. I'll try your idea out and see. Thanks, this is why I joined this forum, all the great information!

You are absolutely correct!! My wife does not get the chance to visit as much as she would like...so I try to pass on anything relevant. Unlike many places on the internet, this ladies forum offers real life experience to tackle the carry issues that ladies face!
IMO this is one of the most valuable things about this entire forum! It is not uncommon for ladies to ask me carry questions...the threads in this part of the forum have been extremely helpful and hopefully resulted in helping someone protect themselves. I wish there were some way to have more ladies involved in both everyday carry and shooting sports.

If you want the same sort of set-up without pantyhose (such as with a denim skirt & sandals) try wearing a pair of spandex-type exercise shorts under the skirt. Also skin tight, & a bit less prone to "snagging" than hosiery.
Also, the Smart-Carry is an option... (yeah, I finally got one)
