Women and ARs

#1

Post by iratollah »

There is another thread on this board discussing how women who have never shot ARs really find them fun to shoot.

As a word of encouragement for any of our female members who haven't had any trigger time with an AR, currently the top three junior competitive AR shooters in Texas are female. At the most recent state service rifle championship, where most all competitors shoot the AR15, these girls owned the top three overall scores, leaving 15 boys in their wake. (Juniors are age 20 and under.)

Women tend to do very, very well with the AR.

The thing is getting women to try them. I try to bring mine to the women's classes a couple times a year just to share the fun.

Corrected. Gee Flint I didn't even get a chance to get back in and correct it before you caught it!

I know several ladies that own ARs and compete with them too. One of them even has a pink one.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
