I think so, too. Tom Estep recommended this site, he gave me a gun handling and shooting lesson last week.

Re: New arrival!
LadyBug - - After a failed attempt by my hubby , Tom taught me to shoot as well. He is a great man and a wonderful teacher. I definitely feel lucky to call him a friend.
I am sure CompVest will be by shortly to welcome you - - she is another FABULOUS shooter, instructor and friend! I am not sure where you and Tom shot, but PSC offers a monthly women's class and their facilities are top notch.
The Cornered Cat (http://www.corneredcat.com/) also has some great information, specifically for women.
Welcome to the CHLForum - - I am glad to have you here! Have a wonderful end of the week!

Re: New arrival!
Thank you so much jbirdswife for your friendly welcome. I live in Houston and I shot with Tom in Texas City. You are so right, he is a great man, I felt immediately at the right place with the right coach.
I will turn to the website you mentioned and would like to meet other women (men are also welcome if they behave nicely ) and talk about guns and how to use them properly. I own a .38 special and a Glock. I wish you a great weekend, going to Texas City again on Saturday to get aquainted with the guns.

Welcome to the Fourum. It is great to have another lady on board!
The class jbirdswife is refering to meets the first Saturday of every month at PSC (Pearland Shooting Club). Sign-in is at 8:30 AM and class starts at 9:00 AM and runs to noon. It is $15 for non-members and $10 for members. The class is for all experience levels and covers everything from safety to shooting to a discussion on a topic of interest (ie home invasions, purse carry etc.). Hope to see you there.

Re: New arrival!
Hello LadyBug, I'm glad you came here, you will find it a great place to make friend's and continue to learn.
Shooting with Compvest and the other Ladies at PSC will be very much worth your time and I think you might want a Membership at PSC.
I'll talk more about that and the Forum get togeather in the CHL class.

Just wanted to extend a welcome. There's not much for me to add. You've gotten some good advice here from CompVest & Jbirdswife.
