Mom's new drill

#1

Post by longtooth »

Mom has been moving & shooting for a while.
A couple of weeks ago I rigged up a target on a big wagon I have.
Today we tried it out for the 1st time. Long rope on the wagon handle & run it about 90 ft to a post & use that for a 90% pull. The rig worked great & she did too. Some tough shooting. We both had great fun & got some good practice running for cover & returning fire against a running BG.

Thats a great drill LT.

Odds are, if you are ever in a fight for your life, your intended target will be moving.

Unfortunately, many folks have never shot at anything other than a stationary target.

I have found, if the target is stationary and "I" am moving I do O.K., also the reverse, BUT....if the target and I are "both" moving my scores begin to suffer.

Range has a great deal to with my accuracy on moving targets as well.

One thing you can try that's loads of fun is to tie a couple helium balloons to an RC car and try to shoot the balloons while a friend drives with the intent of having you miss.

It's a lot of fun. Extremely bad form to shoot the car. :rolll :woohoo
No, I didn't shoot the car. It was all I could do to hit the balloons cause them suckers can be quick.

I know what you mean about few chances to hit moving targets. I get excited when a gust of wind hits the targets at our outdoor range as they at least provide some additional needs to compensate. I know it's not the same though....

Cool! I need an RC car to play with...or maybe a post driver & some rope to rig up a pull target safely.

...and here I thought this was going to be about mom becoming a Makita Warrior.
